:x if you had to equip the guards and pay for them too thatd be a bit expensive and wouldnt workd for guilds who rely on other guilds for there crafts

I understand your point, however, I think it's reasonable that a guild that's well rounded and has not neglected the non-combat skills has a bit of an advantage.

As ncrijns suggested, the guards could come with a standard equipment setup. This wouldn't be the best equipment but would make it so you didn't have to make equipment for your guards if you don't want to or can't.

its still a bad idea however you look at it it gives some guilds an advantage as they have crafters who can make 250q stuff all day long low lvl guilds who will be struggling to just keep up on the maintanance and upkeep of npc's will be taking armour OFF of the guards to equip on thereselvs for better chance of survival?

this game shouldnt be aimed at the "uber" player i see alot of posts saying but this is doing exactly that :) if you got no life and grind out 250 in a craft skill you can have "uber" stong outposts... but if your a casual player then go away.... and you soloers too...... see what i mean? lol

This is true for outposts whether crafters can equip the guards or not. The guild more willing to grind levels away and build up resources (dapper, armor, whatever) is going to have an advantage. I hope for ways to allow smaller guilds to participate, however, hoping for them to participate equally is unrealistic. It'd be nice as our guild isn't very big and certainly not high level.

Not allowing us to equip guards doesn't even the playing field at all. It simply removes crafters and harvesters as an integral part of the experience.

im a crafter/harvester too and i am doing my bit for outposts now.... before they are even on the ATS i have 20m in my pocket to donate to the fund alrdy just from my skills you dont have to be able to equip the guards to make a difference you can supply the more expensive guards which the fighters/mages cant ;)

I guess I just want crafters and harvesters to have more purpose than grinding out dappers. I don't think I'm alone in that either based on the responses so far.

I really hope so. But we can only talk about it when they are introduced. Too many open questions atm. Anyways diplomatics where mentioned officially...

me too but grinding dappers is what we do best and im pretty sure that this new way of spending those useless dappers we have is a good start for most of us i know alot of crafters who have millions and dont have anything to spend it on

During the Kitin invastion event Soma was still very small and unable to defend herself in Bounty Beaches, but she could supply the guards with armor and weapons. This made me feel very proud that I was helping another lowbie escape certain swift death by keeping the guards supplied and ready to defend myself and others.

I had a part in a grand event. *waves her worn pick* I made a difference.
