Well don't stop yourself on our account, heh. I'm sure the Kitin would be glad to have you. *smile*As for you unified nation. I'd rather feed myself to the Kitin then live under Matis rule.
Anyway, as others have already stated, yeah, the Matis arn't exactly about living in harmony with the land, protecting the woods, yadda yadda yadda. That's the Zorai. The Matis believe that everything in nature has a purpose for which it can be used. We like the forests because they offer us plenty of things to tinker with and improve upon.
The Kami don't really approve of that. The Kami see everything as fine the way it is now, and would much rather see a tree remain a tree instead of seeing it become a home. The Kami care about the planet as a whole; to them, you, homin, are about as important as a single yubo. No more, no less. Or a single ragus. Or a single patee tree. The Karavan, on the other hand, like homaninty. They dig us. They look a homins and see something greater than a fuzzy little critter who just plays cute and pees on things. A greater potential, both for good or for ill, and because of that, they seek to help us. Shepherd us along the right path and steer us away from our own follies. Like a parent, one might say.
