Also - you should be able to zoom out WITHOUT a scroll mouse.
Was one of the first things I suggested as a noobie gurl
v does this. Doesnt it ?

And these days, herbies enjoy pulling aggro on people! I know, I'm a victim of it.
This is what it shouldnt be. Digging between carnies *is* dangerous. This is why you have to look around *and* take care of your source.
A 50m zoom would ruin it. I play the game in 1280x1024 and the zoom is fine. I can imagine that the optics are a bit different on a 1600+ screen. So i would have no problem if DEV gives us 2-3 m more zoom.

"v" is the button for switching from a 3d view from behind the char to see it through the eyes of the char.
I have tried to map Zoom in and Zoom out to keys but have not found the options in the key config.

Still playing on Linux ? Maybe you can configure keys in the config for the mouse on the Linux side. imwheel seems to have such options.

I agree too short, but I can see a slight increase in certain zones(very tight or walled in areas where you would be smashing your camera into tree tops or so on) and a big increase in larger map sizes as being a nice balanced answer from the Developers.
The only reason I post is, because the one video (which I get I should not really go into detail about) at least showed there is a Possibility for having a further out view.
That reason...and the fact that I am constantly trying to zoom out in say aggro mob situations to heal, fear, or *my favorite* Madness others in a fight. But I can see that in large scale battles with other team mates, it would be really helpful to a melee with taunt or so on. Perhaps I am missing a macro for *assist player* and target their bar? Dont know if that is something that works in this game. You know what I mean..where you *assist* and it targets what that player is targeting?
Anyways, I second the emotion of wanting to see a lil further back from my chr, but I will live if it means some major overhaul and the game has to put something else that is awesome on hold.

You can do this with a macro. Press K for the marcoeditor. Very useful in many ways.

they (Nevrax) needs to change CameraDistMax value in client_default.cfg because changing it yourself (player) is against rules.
by default it's 5meters from player

note for anyone who wants to be a rebel.
Do a forum search for "Zoom", that's the thread title.
