There's this *other* game (I wont say which) that allows player to set up their own store, anywhere, anytime. But the char has to sit still while the store is open. Players would come and click on the char and see all their wares for sales and the price the seller set them at and can purchase them or negotiate via the chat channel. It worked pretty well.

To handle the vendor issue posed.... all they would need is add "sort by seller" .... and then they could keep the vendors the same.... just instead of displaying by lvl, price, etc.... you could see everything "Player X" is selling for example...
As to the meat of the post... my suggestions...
-all 250 regions are PvP...
-anything.... what-so-ever.... where we can alter the game itself... the dig mission suggested earlier would be a fine example of this.
-events that have some appeal other than being labeled "an event" ... if it doesn't alter the game somehow.... something that makes you think.
anything that keeps the game going essentially.... anyone else notice the server population drop quite a bit since guild wars started? Not what I want to see personally....

a /who "zone" function to easier find people to hang out with/team with/harvest with/etc
(could also be /who guild, /who race, /who title etc)

Yes, some options for the /who function such as you suggest would be great. Especially /who guild... having my whole guild roster in my friends list is somewhat cumbersome, but it's the only way right now to see which of my guildmates are online.
I'd also like to see player-defined character profiles added in - should be accessible to other players via the context menu you get when you right click a character.
Brithlem mentioned turning on open PvP in any 250 zone - I don't like that idea, but I do want to see the temporary faction PvP activated in regions when there are faction related events happening. This was on the test server and was accidentally published in the Fleeting Gardens on Windermeer. Since they removed what they published in error, we've seen nothing more about that faction event/PvP system. I hope they haven't totally abandoned it.
Player hired private vendors and hawkers would be nice, provided that their service fees were dependant on the prices set, and also were high enough to make using them merely for hoarding or storage costly.
We should also be able to see Kami or Karavan fame of other characters, if not everywhere in the game, then certainly in the open and faction PvP areas of it. I'd rather not see it as a number over their head... maybe a bar with Kami fame to the left of the center and Karavan to the right?

I liked to see a system where you could type in the lvls of people to team with.
EX: find lvl 150 - 200 melee, of 2handed sword or just any lvl 150 - 200 melee
More customation in appartments.
*you could buy new furniture and arrange it.*
-can make or buy pictures to hang on the walls
-able to buy boxes to store more stuff
-a system where you can read chat from other regions that is only assible in your app. like a tv or a computer
-mail or packages can be delivered to your app. mail thats comes on time hopefully : )
-furniture has different looks based on where its from
-players can craft furniture
*different type of apparments*
-smaller app. for less money or larger app. for more money
-app. with a second story or more if the player spents a fortine on the app.
-different views from the windows
-App. with multipy rooms that can be arrange by the player when it's first bought. or different app. with rooms already aranged that the player can choose from
Minor difference in game play for the races
-Trykers can swim the fastest
-Zorai are harder to spot by mobs, in the jungle
-Fyros lose less stam. per attack in the dessert
-Matis have better dodge ablity in the forest
we could have different types of underwear because when my charater runs around in his skifies he looks like he's naked and has a really pale butt and of coarse the matis wear leaves for underwear

edit:
allow you to move items between packers when at stables. ex I could be at Fair Haven stable and move a item to my packer in Matis from my bag or to my packer in Zora. from the inventory screen

-More ability to unite as homins against the kitin, this could take the form of fighting them longterm for control over areas of prime roots, driving them back, building villages and cities, and see these destoyed and overrun on kitin surges of power.
-more 'hidden' features, landmarks, some with benefits, others just nice to look at, secret passages and trapdoors revealing thing that can only be stumbled upon and be the base of rumours and myths. giving homins the desire to explore more and see this great land.
-more npc/object interaction, let us sit on a bar stool, and order a beer, fighting is thirsty work. bars are underused, the ability to 'buy a round', sit and talk, tell stories (chatroom style)
-emote doubleteaming, ie offer a dance, dance offer accepted, = dancing homins animation, same with hug etc.
-multiple outpost building designs, hopefully they wont all look the same
-remove /a summonPet 4 it served its purpose, now its just exploited, anyone who needed to move their animals have had enough time to do so.
-a busy_on_hunt or busy_on_trip command, number 1 annoyance is 5 /tells when trying to keep your team alive

Fix Ranged Skill
And along the lines of what scarazi said, homins could destroy kitin outposts and such and build an offensive, maybe even introduce another race that has an alliance with the kitin
Fortress Assaults using all the ablitites would be nice, some mobs would be weak to the 3 main attacks, range, melee, magic, and things like bombs could be made and used to destroy the heart of the base, ie a harvester forages bomb mats, crafter puts them together, some huge tank guys with REALLY heavy armor carry the bomb down to the center, and some berserker tank with crazy healers keeping him up runs to the bomb and lights it with a burning weapon ("Take him down, Legolas!"

)
Boom! and the fortress is destroyed, the next couple of days crafters and harvesters work on building the fortress as the fighters/mages plan how to defend and advance to the next outpost

1.- Stuff needed for outposts: war declaration and support for ingame allience. You can defend/take outpost with help of an ally.
2.- Ingame auction. Player selling stores/npc are not an option imo, cos there will be too many of those. Imagine at least 200 NPC's in Yrk for every player selling something. Auction houses works well is some other MMO games.
3.- More RP features like for example unique missions (once done, they are gone). When you complete that kind of a mission, story about you and your actions is published in ingame newspaper (if someone played beta of now dead game "wish" will remember this feature). This is nice way to make Ryzom real RP game and allow ppl to build their own ingame fame. However, good event team who will think about those missions is needed.
4.- Editable charachter info. You can write there something about yourself. Other players who right click on you can read about you and where you stand for. This can also help to get more RP in this game.
5.- More support for "neutral" characters. -10 kami/karavan fame to start rite mission for example (not 34 global). On the other hand, player who is kami/karavan is forced to do only one side missions, but still beter then not allowing any missions for neutral players at all. (atm, only the missions are problem for neutral players, so i wrote about that. We all know from some posts that Nevrax is working on some new Kami/Karavan features, lets just hope they will think about neutral players).

I would like to see Race specific mounts/vehicles, after seeing that concept design for the boat ages ago. For example, Trykers have a boat or a glider. Fyros have battle mounts (Meks or possibly Tamed Gingos).
I haven't had much play with Matis or Zorai, so I'll leave that to those that play them and can invision what those races would use.
Almost forgot, even more unique creatures specifically for each land.

Talking of PvP, well someone mentioned it, would it be any better if a guild can declare war on another guild - then they are always in PvP state? Where ever they are. Would that lead to worthwhile alliances? Prehaps when you declare it, you can't back down for 24hours and of course, you'll be a fair game to them too.
Do you think that would work?
