I have doubts that this is a Karavan. If its a Karavan i ask myself if he is in the same faction then the Kravans we know.

The left one seems to sit on a device (somehow like a motorbike).

If its a sentinel, then is ask against what ? This one looks like lots of trouble
(A better Karavan sentinel would be a quite hollow content. Nobody needs a better)

I also ask myself if there is any biological content in this armour. This could be a robot too. Probably a mechanical guard for karavan aligned outposts ?

Is this sort of gun he has ? Or is it probably something like a device to clean Goo away ?

I don't think the devs would add an entire new faction, especially one that looks so similar to the Karavan. The whole "no Homin has ever seen their true face" deal is what I think gives it away that these are Karavan.
Also, I don't really think these are robots. If you look at the right sketch, it really seems to me that this is covering, not the actual body.
If it is armor though, I think the Karavan should put some internal air conditioning units in the suits of those who will patrol desert regions
