Server down?

Agreed with Manya. Klients is just too hard to get working for most people.

There is an (official?) irc channel too, but I can't see that one mentioned very often.

It would be nice to see Klients topic on http://www.ryzom.com (and support staff updating it bit more often

i had it too but can log in now, try

1/ the client of the server u are logged at so no use trying to log on the american client u need the european
2/ type the exact login u type at ur ryzom account
3/ the exact pass

1/ I have downloaded the file from the "Klients, a must have" in this forum so it should better be the correct one.

2/ I have typed it correctly, it doesn't recognize me. And after I give my name in, that message starts scrolling endlessly. So even if I did do a typo or something, I can't try again. And if I shut down the client and turn it on again, it still keeps scrolling that message, without me ever having the chance to do anything.

3/ I never ever got as far as to be able to give it the pass. Or am I supposed to give it in the same line with the name like in: [name pass]?

But anyways, at this exact moment that client also seems to be down. It says 'Connection refused'.

If you like you may test if it is possible for you to login to the chat server by trying to connect it from commandline.

Execute 'cmd' from the windows start menu.

Then type:

telnet chat.ryzom.com 6001

If this works, but Klients does not, you may have downloaded the Klients version for the wrong community.

You may check if the default chat server in the Klients setup is chat.ryzom.com,6001. (In Klients: Main -> Client Setup... )

The is an option on klients, if you go to the menu at the top and select the arispotle tab, there is an option in there for disconnect (stop it from scrolling) then one of the windows allows you to manually put your username/pw in. I cannot remember exactly how to do it as I am at uni and no klients with me

The point was (I think) that Klients is so hard for a casual gamer that it is an ineffective support channel and really not worth mentioning until problems are fixed.

Some hints:

If you get "only registered users..." try entering someone elses account (someone who promotes Klients or mine) and see if you get a password -prompt next.

If you still get "only registered users..." you have probably wrong community Klients.

If you get a password prompt, problem is with your account. There may be many different account problems leading to this but I know two fixes:

1) Change your ingame password (this supposedly triggers something at background to fix your Klients account.

2) Email to ee-billing (or whatever that was) and they can tick box on your account information that allows you accessing the Klients.

But it is really shame that these kind of issues makes it hard to start using chat support. Should not take too long to fix all accounts to have working Klients access. I guess, doing a single update to database for fixing this issue would be much more cost effective than fixing accounts one by one...

Exactly what I mean. Besides I have just managed to completely blow the Kilent to bits by fiddling with it. Now it is completely blank and won't budge at all since the command tabs on the top are gone.

You could always use mIRC, xIRCon, Pirch or another IRC client I think. Just add the server, and use the same username and password as you use to log in to the game, or...?

won't work
the network you connect to in clients is a custom-written telnet server that is also connected with the player and accounts database, they simply use klients because it is easier to abuse it's scripting capabilities than to write a completely new client
