This kind of posts are made mostly to bolster one's opinion about not rezzing a certain player or to find justification because some guild wont rez the player.
I completely agree.

Nothing happened. Keep rezzing/healing all the people he sees, no matter the race, guild or level.

This sounds in no way like any innocent poll, this smells very fishy. In the end, any playing finding himself in a dispute that will trigger a no-rez from anyone else (either guilds or players) should consider lvl'ing some social skills. In situations like that, everyone is behaving like an arse anyway...
Agree!
Behave nicely and be treated nicely

I think I'm all for the going on as usual. I think I'd also find some others to play with. No insult to any of the players involved, but not rez'ing someone just because they are teamed with someone you don't like is just wrong. That's trying to dictate to people who they can and cannot team/play with. This game can be hard enough to play, and is wrought with danger enough for all. NOONE is uber enough that nothing kills them. With that in mind, shouldn't we all be looking out for each other, in the hopes that, when we are down, someone will be kind enough to help us? Remember the golden rule. It really does help. And, in my opinion, that means helping even those that I feel have wronged me. Maybe they will eventually learn to love as well.

1. Forget about it, ignore their dispute, and res everyone that needs it becasue you are a bigger Homin than most.

Well, as I expected and hoped, an interesting group of replies.
Frydeswinde, actually I truly was player C.
I hope ANY 'no res' people whether involved in this incident or not, and they know who they are, will take some notice of the general opinion expressed in these replies - but I doubt they will.
For my own part, I recognise it's a game and I play it for fun.
I wouldn't waste my time holding grudges & taking up petty vendettas over something like this issue. Theres no fun in that.
As in real life, we are all judged by everything we say & do in the game. I hope that means others I come into contact with will consider me to be a mature, balanced and considerate player.
Clearly, the replies show that I am not alone in my thoughts on the "I'm not gonna res you 'cos ............. brigade". They have to accept how others will judge them as a result of their actions.
I intend to keep to the moral high ground and carry on as before. Should I come into contact with the people involved I don't think I would have any difficulty in politely distancing myself from them. It's a big game & easy to move elsewhere.
End of story as far as I'm concerned.

I've got good friends in guild A and player B is also someone I consider a good friend. I'll rez and team with them when I can, and I just accept the fact that they don't happen to like each other or get along. I personally don't think it reflects on player B's maturity or on Guild A's quality as a guild that one member of guild A would display such pettiness to an apparently neutral party (player C).
Another thing I'd probably do is PM the leader of guild A and ask if this really is how he has directed his guild to treat all teammates of player B. Sometimes a guild leader's directions are interpreted differently than what is intended. You might be pleasantly surprised to find that the leader of guild A is actually a nice, fun, mature and friendly fellow. Actually so is player B. They just don't mix well. It happens.

gaspode1 wrote:Here's a hypothetical question that I think is worthy of the game Scruples. I know what I'd do, but thought I'd like to hear from the Ryzom community to see if I hold a minority view.
Player A falls out with player B. As a result player B knows that player A will not res him. It is impossible to determine the facts of the dispute and judge whether either party may be considered right or wrong. It is not known whether player B likewise refuses to res player A.
Player B teams with player C who is not aware of the dispute at all.
Player A sees the team.
Player C asks in Region Chat for a res as they are both down. Player A could pretend not to have seen the request. However, he feels he has to walk to player C's body & say something like - "Sorry, I'd like to help you but I won't res player B & if I res you then you will res player B".
(Player C doesn't really worry about DP as such - it only takes 10 minutes to clear & worse things happen at sea.)
What is a reasonable response from player C (maybe more than one in the list is possible) :-
1. Something other than, or additional to, the following points (if so, what?).
2. Pretend it never happened & carry on as before.
3. Tell player B you will never team with him again since it means you don't get a res from A.
4. Tell player A you have done 3.
5. Tell player A you will never res them in future.
6. Tell player A you will never team with them again.
7. In a teaming situation tell other team members they have to make a choice between having you or player A in the team but not both of you.
8. Tell players A & B that you never want anything to do with either of them again.
9. Tell player A that if you ever see them in a PVP zone you will be attacking them (it's irrelevant for the purposes of this question who would win).
10. DON'T tell player A, just attack if you see them in PVP. After all, you wern't aware of the 'no res' policy until after the event. So why should you bother to pre-warn them of a PVP attack.
11. Tell as many people as possible what happened, both in game and across the BB, naming names to shame those you think should be ashamed.
Don't forget, these are only options, I haven't said what I think is appropriate - at least, not yet.
Oh, and here's the kicker; re-read the post and for 'Player A' substitute 'Player A and their guild'. Is your response still the same. Bear in mind that your response could now affect guild menbers who, like you, know nothing of the original dispute, but have just been told "Our Guild will not res player B'.
Hope this gets some interesting responses (not any sort of flame war).
I res even my enemies... no worries you all

I'll rez anyone... heck, I'll even get DP to rez someone! I will throw a race to rez someone. I'll miss out on placing in an herding event to rez someone. I'll burn tickets to rez someone... well, some times. You'll never know when you'll need a rez and the only person around is someone you ignored a moment before. Most of the time I just respawn since DP isn't all that hard to get rid of. Plus it gives me a moment to reflect while my stats regen.
I'm guessing when the whole Kami vs Karavan, Fame vs Fame, Guild vs Guild thing takes hold things might change. I'll probably sneak in a rez here and there anyway. Until then walking by a fellow homin in need is just plain wrong. Unless he/she is begging for dapper
