I am so please with the interest shown :D

Its best if I keep the groups small (one team max) for organisation purposes.

The day/night cycle is very important to understanding how the world behaves. So be prepared to travel and sit in different locations. (A day is equivilent to about 40 mins realtime, so you can imagine it quite time consuming.) Bring a packed lunch with you as I often get distracted by things I haven't noticed myself and have to investigate.

I will try to prepare some good locations where the behaivours are much more visible. Everywhere in Atys is a live, but as will everything particular setting highlight things better.

Spread the word in game too please, I personally believe less than 50% of the player base only visit the forums and less than 1% post.

I hope you have fun, I will enjoy spend my time with old friends and new friends to be.

Well, I trained them once. And that was not a training as in "sit" but more like "AAAARGH, train!!!11oneone" and a quick run to the karavan tp for me...

I couldnt resist, they were all huddled together with the 30 of them. @h I have a screeny, will post it someday.

Not recommended as it is related to a bug and therefore I personally only did it as an AI experiment

Law please remove if unhappy!

The aggro bug, know as 'My Pet Kincher'

Having one of these allows you to 'scare' the fluffies (non-aggo) and players (not recommended)

These fuffies have different escape strategies, some Herd, some scatter!

Still in tryker, WoM is a easy spot with some "action" > eg: the way cloppers change around the dung resin /motega wood spots at the safe forage area (south of kami), depending on climate conditions... Also there: Doren :P (and a question for you people...) > what is a cute NAMED doing in WoM, right at the entrance to the lake area? (if you are not aware that you can find him there - Windy Way - it might well mean your doom)

I did a small version of one of these trips on the weekend.

Much to my delight, I saw an event I had never witnessed in all my time in Atys.

In the Hidden source, a place I like to gain DP, I explored the most eastern wall area. It was early morning on a summers day. Aggro everywhere, but in the lower summer numbers. Skirting around the outpost, in search of a way do to the water, suddenly as if from no where, they appeared.

This was no ordinary spawn as we have become familiar with in our strange, yet beautiful world. All manor of different creatures appear at once. Yelks, Bolobi and Armas to name but a few, appear only meters in front of us. Standing in amazement for a few minutes, we watched as the started there journey. I have witnessed many migrations, kipee, cray and jugs, however nothing on this scale and with this variaty. The huge trail of animals, headed off deep in to the Hidden Source, some fell to the hungry aggro that waited in their path. We followed as much as we dared, but their shear weight of numbers allow the majority to safe continue their jounery. We were so few that we skirted back the way we came to the safety of the falls.

Each day I see something new.
Each day I am amazed at the complexity of this world we live in.

So complex a world, it appears simple, natural and ordinary to those who choose to travel, only looking and not seeing.

OoC:
Trip took about 2.5 hrs and resulted in about 3 mill dp for me.
But seeing the 'start' of a Herbivour migration for the first time really did make me stop and go wow!

So as before, send me a tell (please say, can we do a trip or something as I get loads of tells these days just saying 'Hi' and my poor old memory is starting to fail me. Do I know you? Are after armour? Old friend returning after many months away, New friend saying hi? .... you can imagine I am sure. So please help this busy, distracted old man with a hint :P )

Thanks for your time....

This weekend I have seen something that startled me as well. We were with a group of slightly overpowered players and in it for the gain of knowledge rather then for fun. Now some have a different definition of fun and standing in the Tyrancha spawn turned out to be fun indeed, but took some getting used to. A nuker who pulls and says: "Yay! Three!" He meant 3 2* purple Tyranga's...

These carnivores didnt kill us, it was the herd of cuttlers that almost did it.

They came from across the hill. A long line of these beasts, attacking all in sight and they drove a wave of peacefull herbivores in front of them. It was awesome to behold, to see them coming, to feel the panic inside myself grow as the first of them reached our nuking caster and our tank at the same time. More kept coming, all in the team were mobbed, healers, nukers, tank. Now I thought Caprykan was chaotic to fight, but did I say we were in the spawn of the Tyrancha's? It was messy, very very messy. The was no way we could sitch to higher skills, as we were all on our highest already. And we survived, dead mobs everywhere, panting players. It was awesome! This was the kind of fight where afterwards people say: "It seems I dinged twice, didnt notice really..."

So carnivore trekking in huge groups, never seen that before. But very interesting I say! Also there can be some interesting complications in this if the enormous group of ragus in Winds of Muse (at Big Sleep Mountain) decide to move to the Kami Teleport. Just as an example (I hope no god reads this)...

The ragus of the Fount, used to migrate, been a long time since I have seen it happen tho. They used to travel from the pillars to the Prakker camp.

And all the hunting used to stop when the Jugs migrated in the GoC, was a funny sight to watch 15-20 hunters press themselves against the walls as a wave of Jugs wandered by.

Atys is alive, open your eyes and see the wonders to behold!

Ever pondered why some animals sometimes come to check you and sometimes not ? Ever come to the conclusion that they want to nibble from the mats you might probably dig there? ;)

In another thread a newer player asked how to know who is who out in the wilderness. The answer was easy.

Watch them and you will know.
