If I recall correctly max damage with a 2H melee wep is: Wep lvl * 2 + 52.... so for a 250 that'd be:
(250 * 2) + 52 or 552 (before increased damage) so double that to 1104... + bleed but I've yet to figure the bleed damage out. So.... "quite a bit" espescially for shield-bearing 1Hers liike myself.

944 damage is almost 2/5 of what a lvl 205 mage can do =P
