there's not much to say. I think we would be better off enjoying the game and the community. it's not gonna help one tiny bit worrying about it or speculating on the outcome.

dunno if you know the Linux world but the french company MandrakeSoft (Linux Mandrake distribution) filled the same legal procedure 3 years ago when they had some problems. Today MandrakeSoft is one of major Linux company in the world, is making money and is even buying other linux companies (Conectiva).

I am confident nevrax will stay a float, afterall there is nothing else we can do is there :D

I would expect with such a fantasic game such as ryzom, with all its potential, and the engine to market they'll keep at it :)

Especially with the cool developments Xaviar was talking about today (karavan lasers yay!)

Wow.. that sure gives insight into how bad things are. Hopefully they can fix things so they don't go out of business.

With all due respect, SoR isn't all that "fantastic". Many, many players have tried it and left. I myself, after a few months, find it quite boring and don't play much anymore.

Basically, Nevrax has so far failed to give the game a purpose. That was a key to differentiating the game in their advertisements, but they haven't been able to follow through. I believe this is the major reason they are in such trouble. The engine is excellent, but the game feels "empty".

I know that for many of you who take the time to post here, SoR is a great game. But the market's verdict is what counts in a commercial endeavor, and that verdict is that SoR needs to improve. Whether Nevrax has the staying power to put things to right before going out of business is unclear; my guess, unfortunately, is no.
