People doing almost exactly the same sort of thing in AC2 caused the nerfing of the Ranger class big-time.

From my point of view - am i am a digger/crafter by trade not nuker/tank - unless it is 100% safe - that means NO way the mob can get you, then its no cheating.
For example - for those that dont know, you can nuke through trees, but mobs need to run around them - they still reach you, they can still kill you, but it gives you a second or two or extra time - normally once extra nuke.
Cheating? or being Strategic & using Tactics?
Sorry if we dont all have the (wont mention the Country) CHARGE & FIGHT attiude...
Some of us play smart, and play with alot of thought... not just point and shoot.
This ultimately comes back to the Dev's there should NOT be any place the mobs can not get you from (an Exploit) and IF such a place is overlooked, then remove it ASAP.
for example I have seen Shala's in this canyons through FF since the day the Server went live..... so either its NOT an exploit, or no one has reported it.
All to easily to slip in a patch "remove shalas from FF canyons" or for a more complex but still very possible solution... make a ramp down to them, so the angry beasts can seek revenge on those cowards nuking from above

I understand your point of view, but a ticket would be a better way.
I remember using such a place. I was quite new to SoR. What could have made me aware that i am hunting in a area where i can get a warning by a GM ?
I think at that time i would have been somehow upset. Thinking that this is a dumb game...
But ticket is ok. The place where i hunted has changed in one of the latest patch. DEV has raised it a little, so i think ADDs from behind are possible now.

Well guys I don't really understand why it's so important if that is an exploit or not? It is impossible to level fast enough without a healer, and if you have a healer (with a bit of thinking and caution) there is no way you can die, so there is no danger either. I know there is a mathematical possibility of getting aggroed but seriously, that's not very likely. I never "exploited" but don't think this is cheating. Is killing stingas cheating? I don't think any one of us was leveling off magic with cloppers/kincher/kirostas... and killing stingas are very easy in my humble opinion. Until you can show me a way to solo level my melee, I don't think nukers have a right to yawn about exploiting... it's too easy already. Killings stingas or killing shalach from a cliff makes no difference for me.

well theres no excuse for perching/cliffing in such a new mmo BUT when Dev time is limited do we really want to be adding a whole list of new problems by zapping stuff off a cliff?
one problem being when people level up really fast with no risk they tend to complain about being bored at some point. Too many high lvl mages won't help game balance eaither.
There was post on this being an exploit but no where obvious for players that don't read these boards regulary.
oh back to looking like an old prude when i tell people i won't hunt on cliffs

Thank you for your posts, i hope a gamemaster will say something to that, and to my first post too.
Just calm down a little. IMHO stop using such places. What i have read now i would say ppl dont like players using such places
Me is prefering a hunt with the possibility of "team down"
No challange, no fun. All that might remain is a bored uberchar.
Still have digging/crafting trees for such

Thanks - i am level 105 elemental and i got there from killing FRahars with a out-of-team healer, who spent hours of his time assisting me.
But wether it attacking something from up on a cliff, down below a cliff, behind a tree, behind a camp fence, etc etc....
I ask you (Moboid) and anyone else who wants to say that using the geographic make out of Atys. including the objects within (ruined outposts for example) to your advantage is wrong, then please - start a new character, and see how much you enjoy as level 60, when a level 67 Igra slaps DP silly face to face, but making it fly around a tree for example means you have a "chance" - nothing is 100% safe - so its not cheating.
so all you high level peeps out there whinging about cheating (yes for those who missed it 105 elements and not a user of cliffs) please go face to face with the current mob that gives you XP and see how much DP you rack up, then come back here and tell me where to go, once you find out it doesnt effect your game at all.
Congratulations

I agree to that. The best hunts are when you sometimes have to run for your life because you are the last teammember who is alive, and you *just* might make it to the portal or the town...
Or when you get so unafraid of the killing that you don't notice you walk into the middle of the spawn point... Until you kill the last mob that is

My only problem is with people who use places like the cliffs. Places where there is zero chance of the mob getting to you. Nothing else bothers me.
