well thanks for the replies everyone... After a few more hours of playing, here are my impressions on the game -
I started off as a mask-person (dont know what they are called) I quickly left the newbe island, and i wager im doing fine, progressing along the main newbe quest: getting cubes of knowledge or whatnot.
The landscape is beautiful, but not being able to jump is really annoying, i feel as though im playing KOTOR (if theres a small ledge the char just stops and you have to find a way around it). I'd like to be able to jump, or at least go up small ledges, since going around in a city could be a little tricky.
the quests; I have to appologize here but i really think they need to be worked on. When i started, there was very little help available.
1. the newbe island didnt have any vet players in it to answer questions.
2. the interface is pretty simple, but a tutorial would have been very helpful.
3. quests are very tedious - i must be missing something... I have to find an npc named "Feng-shu Du" in "fen-lai" and give him a report. so i look in the map for Fen-lai, find it, go there, and then I have to run around looking at every npc's names to find "feng-shu Du"... I spent 30 minutes this morning trying to find that darnit npc ... there is no indicator in the radar, or the map, so its like finding a needle in a haystack.
But the harvesting is really ingenious - i have to admit its the best system for harvesting in all the mmo's ive played... its quite fun and i like having the danger element to it.
I also think there are far too many npc's running around towns. I understand they are trying to make the game populated, but having 50-60 npcs called "Zhen-Du Lai" or "San-Feng zhang" walking around just slows my system down and makes things a little confusing.
well, i'll keep playing the game - i gave up on the quests though (if im missing something please let me know!).
Cheers, looking forward to seeing you ingame
