I agree on all points Kostika raised. I am explaining them a bit and give some comments of my own.
kostika wrote: 1) Make clear what the event is going to be before the event. No one knew what this was ahead of time.
Information about event content before the event takes place reduces disappointment. Many ppl are simply not interested in baseball style knifing event. If we know beforehand what is coming, only players interested in such, will come and hopefully stay there as long as needed.
kostika wrote: 2) Post the rules on the forums. This will help sort out alot of confusion. That way people can refer back to them. Also people can ask questions ahead of time here if needed.
Rules were extremely complex. Remember that far simpler rules in Kami vs. Karavan pvp were not correctly understood / noticed by most. This time it was much harder (although guides tried to hard). I explained rules very long time for my team and after that most of them got basics of the game. We are not all native english speakers.
kostika wrote: 3) It was very hard to tell where you were supposed to be. Maybe if only the playing teams were on the field.
I couldn't attend long enough to be able comment on this one.
kostika wrote: 4) Many people found the rules to be needlessly complicated. The knifing on the bases seemed unneeded for example. Maybe simplifying the rules would help a little.
There was no way of killing / harming faster than regen rate ppl with 255 (or better, don't know the max) dodge with a knife and default attack stanza. Of course, this is just because we are such poor knife fighters.

I had constructed some nice max. adv dodge daggers with nice speed and damage, but I can't really see that it would have made any difference.

There might have been some low lvls that could have been killed but most were high lvls with equally high dodge.

Might be better if runners were forced to use parry with close combat skill. As i saw rules, it was game of max dodge for runners and duty.

And some of my points

5) Estimated event duration. I know this is hard but it is hard to get a team and have all to stay for unknown duration of time at late evening.

6) Don't make server crash :) I know this is hard too, but it helps to start event in time if server is not crashed just at event begin time.

7) If items are required state them clearly. Do we need pistol ammo and do we need 4 or 8 daggers? Of course, I had constructed all possibly required stuff with specifically optimized stats :)

I think Kos has hit the nail on the head really, only things to add would be a diagram posted with rules before would have made things easier to work out instantly.
Only point i disagree on was the knifing by the outposts, although was no threat whatsoever to most players i feel it added abit of fun and stopped the outpost people just being marker poles.

Grats CSR, great work and good event! :D
With some more time your events will be perfect! Keep up the good work! And I wanna say grats to Sotrmdancers, who were worthy opponenents! Although next time we will kick your butts! :)

I agree in everything with Kostika, except the knifing, which was fun! :)
