I was thinking along the same line. It's common for an advanced culture to use crude metaphors so that the "lesser" ones can understand.
I was just reminded of Beneath the Planet of the apes (lol)
Where the underground people, worshipped a 'god' which was actually an old nuke. And then they went all boom and crispy. hehe

systemv wrote:Does that mean the Kami are guardians of Jena as well and just spout a different philosophy as the Karavan? What of Ma-Duk, is it just a different name for Jena? They refer to Ma-Duk as "she" so it's very possible...
I believe that back when I first looked at Ryzom (november 2004) the stories about the Zorai still said that they worshipped the Kami as the true disciples of Jena, and that they believed the Karavan used to be disciples of Jena, but had gone astray, resulting in Jena sending the Kami to replace them.
Since then, Nevrax has changed the story. It now says that the Zorai used to worship the Kami as guardians of Jena, up until the year 2595, when the Zorai leader Hoi-Cho renounced Jena and introduced Ma-duk as Kami superior. Some quotes from different parts of the lore:
2495
The grand sageHoi-Cho openly officially questions role of the Kamis in the great design of Ma-Duk rejects Jena as Kami Superior. He begins his writings of his encounters with Ma-Duk, the true Lord of the Kamis
2504
Mabreka is 19 when Hoï-Cho dies without officially designating his heir. Despite his growing popularity, Mabreka is forced to find exile in Pyr when Fung-Tun, an old and influential guru, takes the power refuting the Hoï-Cho writings, and reinstates Jena as Kami Superior
2506
Fung-Tun is deposed, Mabreka is elected Grand Sage by the High Council. Mabreka takes the name of Mabreka Cho to rekindle the spirit of the Cho dynasty and faith in Ma-Duk.
How they see Jena
Since the encounters between Hoï-Cho and Ma-Duk which began in 2483, Jena no longer has any place in Zoraï culture. They consider her as a deity borne of the imaginations of less spiritual Atysians.

In the first small picture what I see is a cat, stretched out on top of another animal (fish?) which is sticking out it's tongue, which forms a headdress on top of a homin face. Not unlike a lot of Aztec motifs I've seen. I like the idea of bits and pieces of a starcraft strewn about in the roots. Not unlike the ship at the core of the root ball in the movie Kaena.

a question from me, sorry if this was answered already but my english is not the best.
what about the base of that construct? anyone able to get close to this to see how it is "connected" to the ground? that would be interesting I think. If there are "cracks" in the floor, it would be an argument for a crashing starship or something.
btw. in some parts of the roots you can find tunnelsystems and they are very long, maybe you can go to that "building" under the normal roots surface, through some tunnels.
EDIT: I need a hint, where to search, I am at windy gate, searching everywhere around. I found something else, interesting as well, a huge rock, looking like a building with fences around, real fences! I will post a screenshot later if you are interested.

Matis - "Do not wander beneath the surface of Atys, you will be in danger of waking the dreaded dragon of the apocalypse."
Tryker - "If you venture down beneath the surface of Atys, be careful not to wake the dreaded dragon of the apocalypse"
Fyros - huh huh, silly sods. Dragon smagon, we'll just see for ourselves what this "Dragon of the Myth" (finger quote) is. The Karavan can stuff it.
*ventures into pr*
Wut the! Giant spiders! Nuke it! Nuke it!
*Elem Mage fireballs Kinchers and Kirostas*
Uh ... Bob? There're more coming out of da hole, and dey don't look very happy ...

I went and took dozens of screenies, only to find out that one the ATS...my screenie button works, but on live...the game sees my F10 key as an F7!

SO, hours of using the over zoom trick only to find that NONE of my screenies worked. UGH. At least I now know why.
The one I meant is in WIndy Gate. And now that I have explored a bit more (I said Damn the mount, Full speed ahead. I also got rather good at retrieving Trigger) I realize it COULD be part of a former civilizations main training building.
But I have to agree, the last pic DOES look like a small fighter plane/space vessel

achim: Please do post the pics if you get a chance - sounds very interesting
I'll be exploring the area this weekend - I can't wait. Also some of the location names in the underspring look really promising as well. Have any of you found noteworthy landmarks there?

It's the arm of the statue of liberty o.o
"They did it... Damn them... Damn them all to hell!"
Thanks for the pics achim, looks like a tower or maybe a statue. I thought you meant a metal fence originally

hum, metal on atys? would be nice, but hard to get I think, but that is a fence, crafted by homin hands, so it is interesting I think. A relic from ancient times, and the rock looks like as if it would be crafted by homin hands as well
But I can not find that "submarine" they are talking about originally
