Good idea.

Only downer is what state is the economy in? i mean people can bid silly ammounts and you (the seller) end up with loads of dapper, but what use is that dapper when the crafting process generates so much dapper as a grinding byproduct.


only one way to find out :)

You could try to work some sort of exchange rate out for mats etc allowing people to bid with stacks of mats, other weapons etc. I've seen it work well in other mmo's but Ryzom is rather different (lot less variety of loot)

eg 99 ql 100 choice mats is worth 1 point
then work out relative costs to craft an item (allowing for time and effort) and produce a table where you can compare an items "worth" in relation to other game items.

the money won't be an problem, if there are more peepz selling u can bid on other stuf with the money u get for what u sell.

Really good idea!

-Only downside is that the ones who will get the goodies are the ones that need em the least! But then again they have worked hard to get to that position...

Im looking forward to it, ´please announce it far ahead so i can start saving som dappers!

Lets try :) If this will happen, then Neun should start a race-for-gear event.

All stand on the startline up on Kami hill while Neun sells one gear to a merchant.

The ist goes 4.. 3.. 2 ..1 who get to the merchant first ;)

In extension we could think about alowing knifes while running :) ehrm.. just in case someone gets attacked by a Yber, of course !!

Nice idea! I would like to provide the actioneer with some wares of my own and offer a percentage of selling price as payment for the service. The goods I am talking about will be max dodge MQ choice heavies (red by definition) in requested amounts and ql up to 150, with requested boosts too.

Also I can offer for auction lights upto 150 with boosts of choice and in either red, blue, beige or purple.

So tell me, what do you say about that? And yes, more shameless advertizing :-) .

I like the idea Neun :) However, I also see a few problems that could make it a non-event for quite a few players.

Firstly, you'll need people selling a large range of QL. Just yourself, or a few players selling Q100+ Q150+ gear is no good. Only a certain audience demands that gear, and only a certain audience can afford to bid for that gear. Bidding for Q150 items will probably bring some nice competition (and probably some bid war shenanigans), but only from other rich players on the server (you're already very rich I'm sure, this event would need to be interesting to the less-well-off amongst us, if only high-level rich players profit, your audience is small :) )

If someone at lvl50 comes along, they want to bid for a nice 50/60 (whatever) sword, at a reasonable price (why bid when we have merchants, and cash may be limited?). They don't want to stand and watch 'the elders' bidding multi-million dappers for uber-gear :)

You are describing, one of my concerns. My hope is that we can achieve the follow:

A wide mix of items - multiple ql and grades.
A sensible audience - not too many false bidders. (it might be worth verify dapper sums at the start)

Standard items - maybe a Dutch auction (5xql50 hvy) sold to the top five bidders for the same price.

Special items - eq HQL hvy in purple, these sort of unusual item is where I would like to see the fun.

I know that there are players that could bid 1 mill for a ql10 burning sword, but I hope these sort of players have the sense that this is more about fun than anything else. Most items can be bought or got from guilds so lets hope that all that come get into the spirt of it all.

Not doing it for the money - if dappers were my goal, I would just dig hvy pants mats and sell em to the NPC direct. (a very effective but boring way to make money)

As we don't get 'drops' (excluding NPC bandit bosses) all items can be made over and over again. On that point... Aen armour is one item that would send the bidders completely crazy!!!!!

So its for fun, a chance for crafters to advertise, a chance for some of the newer players to see some of the more exclusive items.

You never know I might even donate the profits :D what to I am not sure ;0
