As far as I know they did not fix anything. I can't even be bothered to read the release notes anymore.

The merchant fix was worth it. For me personally a daytime patch was ok.
Next one must be: Nothing, really nothing might obscure my sourcebars while digging
Noone but DEV can say which bug has what priority. Probably the mektub bug affected some other aspects of the world in a serious way ?!
And every good sysadmin will announce more downtime then really needed.
An OS upgrade normally happens by changing the whole harddisk which is
allready installed and tested
.
Anyway... there is also Murphys law
An entity much more fluffy then the Kami and much more mysterious then the Karwvan.
