Hey Phantasy Star Online rocked, for dreamcast anyway.

This game has structure, there is structures in lots of towns, and all over the maps.

There is even hidden structures that you got to seek out and find.

Ok ok ok, so I am being literal.

This game requires imagination.

No, Phantasy Star in general. The kind of sci-fi/fantasy mix that was developed before Final Fantasy ever figured it out. My theory is that we're all descendants of a ship of planetary pioneers. The Karavan are all clones of Jena, and that's why we never see thier faces. I would almost say that the Kitin and Atys are creations of The Karavan, and The Kami are also a faction of Karavan.

I wish they'd make a new Phantasy Star Online.

I'm sold. Numans and uh... I forget what they call the cyborgs. I just hope your race doesn't force you into one class like it did before.

Anyways, reading more of the lore of Ryzom, which seems to be ... what, all in the forums? Is that what people were complaining about? I admit, I'm clueless as to how to find this stuff...
I would restate my guess, that the Kami made the Kitin and the Karavan made Atys. (or at least the tree/sap/goo that currently makes up Atys) Maybe they're two different sects of the pioneers with different views on how a balanced ecosystem should work. They both were working on the same project.

I really dig this game, and it's not just because of my harvesting skills.

:D

More content needed, yes, definitely. However, how many of you have actually completed more than a couple encyclopedia missions? The ones that work of course. ;) I for one am excited about the prospect of getting some unique stanzas based on 'pedia missions, which are part of FAME. So already we see fame being used for something. I will give this game until summer at least to disappoint me. 'Till then I will enjoy creating fun with my guildies and others, and will endeavor to discover the secrets of Atys. After all, Bodokin can't be the ONLY triggerable event out there. :)

My issue is the futility of solo travels. I die ten times to get 20ms. And the thought of standing in one spot, trusting that mobs won't path into me, while I WAIT for other mobs to MAYBE path out of my way is frustrating beyond words.

Travel in this game has taken on the same tones...for me...as EVERQUEST camping. I want to walk up and SEE it, not fiddle with stuff so I can zoom to see 400ms or MUCH more from where I am standing.

This is one of the ONLY games I know of where travel is lethal, no matter your level, with two minute or longer loading times, mobs that jump 200 to 400m, and...NO invisablity spell or skill.
vguerin wrote:I disagree with alot of what you say here, I know that you dont know my skills but I think you have seen that my PRIMARY player type is explorer... I am going to agree with you wholeheartedly on that...

I have a massive collection of screenshots, ideas & "things" that might mean something about something... Lack of knowledge about the basics keeps me busy as an explorer as I am an information geek I guess... I have many things I keep in guild, because it's "my" time invested in acquiring this info... I am always forced to consider whether to make things public, limited to Melinoe or adding it to WarCry.

There is alot here IG, the "Nevrax" 8 year plan appears to mean a trail of using stuff they should be telling us to keep us around a bit longer... I enjoy this game and my relationship with folks, but I am getting tired of this. The Encyclopedia stuff is interesting if limited, it distracts us with finding some back story while we wait on things that should be here already...

I am not keen on having to "unlock" things that ANYONE still alive now should be able to tell us. In order to ensure we dont make the same mistakes again, there should be a more clear path... I enjoy discovery, thats why I spend my days in DP looking around to document things and my evenings leveling with my guild or my wingman Mystakae... Things should start making sense soon but who knows. Why does a Matis patroller cause negative Matis/Karavan fame FFS ? My list is long but I will agree there are many things missing and I also tire of the excuses... Give us a reason to stay other than the folks/friends we enjoy...

Think my problem as an explorer in Ryzom is unlike other games there isn't much interactive stuff to go nosey at. Some nice terrain features but too many repeated ones (kipee mull for example is one of many identical mulls)

No weird npcs living in huts in remote places, no dungeons or monster camps/cities. No skills to complement exploring, everything done by explorers is based on player reaction and timeing so i did just as well exploring pr in my free trial as i can now.

Tribes arent bad for an explorer but the weird fame from some of them does make me wary of trying to make new friends. In fact having contacted some extreme tribes i'am now in a worse situation for fame than someone who just levels.

Looks interesting...is there maybe an English site? My oriental language skills are worse than my German is.
