afaik ping and fps are two totally different things. One is networking, the other is graphics.
Anyway, networkstatus

Oh I was just telling the only information I knew ryzom provided. Ping is the time from you to the server, fps is number of frames displayed per second. They are related in online games when lag is taken into account.

The striping of the pagefile he mentioned is actually a feature of winxp. Some info:
