If you're not scared of Soulsnatcher, then there's something dreadfully wrong with you! ;)

fiach wrote:but the Final Quest is so laughable I have to mention it. The manual tells you the story so far OK?, So anyway you go to the local Lord and he gives you a flask, he tells you a bit of the "story so far" (SSF :) ) and says go to the fountain and fill it and bring it back to him (this is a fair bit of a distance to travel, especially whe you are getting a bit bored). You bring it back and he tells you a bit more of the SSF to keep you on tenterhooks :P and says bring the flask to the next town. You get there the guy to whom you give the flask tells you some more of the SSF (WOW! cant wait for this to end) and sends you to the next town with a flask to fill and bring it back for some more of that yummy SSF.

I eventually got to the main town, but had lost all interest as to why I went there in the first place Suffice to say it was a cool looking place, sort of Greco/Roman style thing going on, you get trainers and merchants etc. One thing though which was interesting, you buy your skills for cash. I also noticed that you get more XP for quests than for fighting, that made the game very unpalatable for me.
Hey im a Nightelf :) that moonwell vile quest has a great reward a 2hmace or bow, XP and slivers coins, plus is isnt the final quest it continues in another continent. Addmitally it is a little bit of running about but i didnt soley concentrate on that quest. Just did loads of sub quest and kinda did that one on the way :P i thnk thats how it was intended

I spent some time in EQ2 (still have account) and, although I was impressed by some of the gameplay eg: crafting, it just didn't feel right, too "cartooney". I also had a peak at WoW screenies which, looked very like EQ2 so I didnt go there.

I liken these games to the Halflife vs Quake situation. Quake is an awsome game but try as I might, I could never leave Halflife behind, why?, because to me HL had the "realism" feel about it. In HL I cared if I died, in Quake there wasn't that feeling.

Imagine my joy tho' when a colleague at work made a mod for HL with Quake like power ups, man that was such a laugh, the joy of being invisible, walking up to a chr nd smacking them with your crowbar! We had months of screaming mayhem (not much work got done).

So, for me, Ryzom is gonna have the dubious pleasure of my company for a long time to come :)

While WoW will not rival Saga of Ryzom for me i have to give it credit for solid implementation of inverted-mouse-control.

Its very frustrating that Ryzom still fails to deliver in this pretty basic stuff. I remember my intentions to quit playing because of this. Too bad the rest of the game got me hooked up. <put smile or anger or sadness here>

Yeah it does have great novel value about it atm and i know a lot of ppl have eagerly awaited it, blizzard does have a good rep for making games. Time will tell, I think Ryzom definityl stands a good chance when WoW's novel value runs dry and SoR get Outposts!!!!

Some of my friends have gone to WoW until outposts arrive on SoR but it's Ryzom all the way for me!

Alliance scum lol long live the horde.

Seriously guys, WoW/Ryzom 2 very different games lets drop the comparisons and the I spent 2 hours round my mates and now Im an expert rubbish.
You cant really compare because they arent supposed to be the same, I personally see a good market for both games.

To come to the conlcusion that they are two seperate games you must have compared one to the other even if it was only for like a split second :p

Any how any two things can be compared to one another and i want to see what comparisons ppl have made.

As I said Een, I'm probably doing the game a great disservice with my description, I dont like it, but my friend loves it, I asked in a later post for somebody to give a more balanced view (pro-WoW), Maybe I missed something and I would like to know if I did. :)
