Without moving ... tried:

Sign me up on the borked harvesting list :(

If tracking to an area that constantly returns "no materials in this area", I have found that you can sometimes find what you tracked about 100m away.
Even though standing on the extractable spot, further tracking will point to the empty area.

Additional tracking specific materials and quality can still lead to areas with anything but what you serched for.

Something I found out was that:

Using a material type plan (e.g. shu fiber) in tracking produced wrong results most of the time

Using a crafting part type plan (e.g. major magic focus material) in tracking found me the desired spots. It even told me when things were not in season / weather / time.

Is that something by design that is not well documented?

When i read all this I am still convinced its bugged

I use find "choice fibre" with tracking. I got a source 40 meters in front of me, when i walk forward it drops to 26 meters... that tells me its at least in front of me and at a range of 26 meters. Am i right?

So when i use prospect (fibre and choice only) with 240 degrees, that means all thats in front of me and a little backwards even... and at a range of 40 meters, I SHOULD find it. I dont want to change angles, i dont want to change range... the way the game is set up i SHOULD find something. Maybe not the 1st time, even maybe not the second. but not 10 times in a row is too much.

But... nothing...

Now this is what I call a bug.

Please prove me wrong....

Cos if it is the devs could solve it. Now they say i am doing it wrong :-)

Oops, i have 120.. but that doesnt make the problem go away. Even when changing my view in a diff angle doesnt make me find that source my deposit tracking found

Did some quick testing with choise amber in CoI (Zorai qlt<50), during the spring time.
Pha and hash amber, tracking and procspecting worked like a charm every time.
Beng and soo amber, both tracking and prospection was pain in the "chair interface".
