Edit: oops, realized that was out of context with the thread, point made though.
I hope it has been made because it is kind of annoying

Some people also react badly when we say "no" which gives them all a bad name

Well, I think we all have to put a little effort in our new players, the more peeps the better is what I think
But if you are questioning if the game will still be around in a year or so, I think you can bet on it. Investors gave 12! million Euro to develop this game (8 for the initial development, 4 for the open beta and the release) - if you don't believe me check nevrax.com -, so I bet they'll make sure they earn at least a part of thier investment back.
I'm glad to see many new players around, so please be helpful to them and make sure they stay

I can only agree with Frydeswinde that´s why I have continued playing Saga of Ryzom. I started with the trial test for 2 weeks and got cought right away by the game, story, players ..etc...etc.. Now I have bought the game and will contiune gaming. The thing I like mostly is my second day arriving in Fairhaven people were nice and helpfull when you had questions. Nobody called you newbie,n00b or something like that. That´s why I stopped gaming games like CS:Source,HL2 and so on. I have been gaming FPS games since -93 (yes it all started with Doom) and have tried almost everyone out there but none of them can be compared to this game. Keep up the Spirit Of Jenna and help new players so we can save the living in Aty´s too.

Een - still a noob
Rezzes anyone he hears has died in his vicinity, just recently used 10k in dappers on food racing around because a noob couldnt work out where he was dead.
Has handed out loads of free armour pieces and weps to noobs - including 1 almost complete set of modi black q60.
Wonders why they restricted the noobs to Arispotle as German and French players more likely to stay if they played on their own servers ????

And please don't hang around Yrk (or wherever) stables begging for money. It's embarrassing and it makes me feel bad to have to tell people no, especially when I get complete strangers asking me for 500k to buy a mount and then getting angry and insulting me when I won't give it
There's asking for help, and then there's people just plain being silly...

I want to share something funny with you that happened to me yesterday.
I started a new character, named Loly in tryker island. Now for me it was piece of cake, knowing everything by heart there. Was a bit lucky too, because someone left Ryzom (too bad

) and gave me his full gear. Now I'm wondering around, killing mobs and stuff, when I met a guy named Hell. I don't remember the whole name, sorry for that Hell???, I have a bad memory regarding names

. Anyway we team up with some other guys, gain some levels and start killing kipees. I told them, that I will loot everything, and after the hunt I will share the mats with them, because I was the tank and had the highest level anyway. So after I had enough of killing (there were no kipees left

) I ask them what they need. Only Hell wanted some of the loot, the others were satisfied with the XP, but he needed dappers. So I gave him his share opf the mats.
Now he asks me if Ryzom was my firts MMO. I said no, and asked why. He told me that it was not normal in MMOs to share your stuff with others, and that I was the firts he met.
Now this is something we should consider well. I think Ryzom is special because we have a more mature community, where sharing, rezzing and helping eachother any ways possible is normal. I think hell will buy this game because this. If we can keep this up, we will have a not huge, but big enough community ti keep Ryzom alive.
Thank you all for the support, that made me able to help this newbie! This goes especially to Evolution. *bows respectfully to the noble homins of Atys*
Grabowsky and Loly

The community is what made me stay to. I have played a lot of MMO's and Ryzom is the first where everyone is so friendly! I also remember people giving me free armor and jewelry when I first came to FH. (Frydeswinde comes to mind) People go out of their way to help others, even if they sometimes need a lot of it! Keep it up, we can only make it a nice place to be ourselves!

Good post Fry, players make the game, we must all do what we can to bring on new ones and keep them in.

The good community we have is not an accident imo; its a result of the background story of Atys: We all have to work together against a planet wide common enermy. Perhaps in other games the goal is more individualistic - to become a 'hero' for example. In other games what is the point in helping new players and sharing? In this game it is at the core of the story and even the game mechanics.
