Simply because as a Karavan follower, I think Kami are nothing more than a meer oddity on the planets survace that needs cleansing.
But like you said, if they got that kind of power, then WHY would they need an altar to transport anything?
Why not just walk up to the little furball and so, yo, midget, port me to X, and off you go?
Its because there not that powerful, nor intelligent enough to figure it out.
Spikeum, twistum, roastum, boilum, its barbeque time!
Fame and Symbols.

Re: Fame and Symbols.
Umm maybe because without the alter no one would ever find them? Or maybe the alters are a way for them to focus enough of their magic to transport non-magical beings like us homins?zumwalt wrote:Simply because as a Karavan follower, I think Kami are nothing more than a meer oddity on the planets survace that needs cleansing.

Re: Fame and Symbols.
Better yet, its a spit on which to stake multiple Kami on at one time made by the Karavan, this way we can rotisery multiple furballs for dinner, and the one sitting next to it is first in line
Oh ya, that makes more sense to me actually, the pillars around the bottom do remind me of a fire pit stone circle.
I do believe the Tryker had something to do with creating it, and I also think its a cooking tool

You'll notice that the altar isn't on the departure side of the teleportation, its on the arrival side. I don't think its too hard of a conclusion to draw to figure that the Kami need some sort of focus device so that they can make accurate teleportations. After all, it is likely that teleporting some other entity is more difficult than teleporting yourself.
gddss wrote:... why is the tp symbol different than what's listed here then? As for following who, I personally would like more info before I make any kind of a decision.
I would point you in the direction of this information. Under the "How they see Kamis" section it tells about how the Tryker were the original favorites of the Kami. I cannot answer who influenced who, but it is fairly easy to assume that they used the same symbols at some point.
Re: Fame and Symbols.
Muahahah there is no departure side LOL, now thats the funniest thing I have heard so far.
Notice, the Karavan dude is on the same side of the teleport device as the Kami furball.
Nix that thought, there both just 'there'
The Kami device does look like the Tryker symbol, influence aside, we don't know who came first, the Altar or the Kami.
Seriously, if Kami are Atys form of Nature beings, they never required Altars to get around the planet to try to take care of its creatures, and I bet they moved them around from time to time to influence growth and spreading if you believe in such things.
The Karavan teleport machine was 'planted' by the karavan, and its very obvious how it works.
Actually I think the little Kami folks are mesmerized by the spinning idol in the middle of the stones, they like shiney things, there little Mogwi!!!!
Just don't get them wet or you will see there true form.

Yeah, I should have clarified. Departure side of the teleport is where you were before you used the teleport. Arrival is after.
zumwalt wrote:Actually I think the little Kami folks are mesmerized by the spinning idol in the middle of the stones...
I'll admit, sometimes I just sit and stare at the altar... spinning... spinning... spinning... Huh? Oh wait, where was I? Oh yeah. Its kinda like the Karavan strobe lights, party lights, whatever you wish to call them.
Re: Fame and Symbols.
gddss wrote:I have to disagree. I don't have an artists eye, but I can clearly see the Kami and Tryker symbol are not the same. Yes they both have circular attributes and lines that point, but that's where it ends. The Kami symbol looks more like a star that belongs on top of a Christmas Tree where as the Tryker symbol looks like it has wings like an eagle or an Indian Dream Catcher.
Sorry I should have clarified. The Kami Altar symbol is specifically what I was referring to as being the same as the Tryker symbol, and there is mounting evidence that supports this. I see how it could have been misconstrued.
Why thank ya. I'll be around the lakelands more than before for awhile, need to get that Tryker fame back upbrackish wrote:Oh and Neiana, welcome back.

Re: Fame and Symbols.
Everyone raise your hand if you stood right next to any Kami at a Kami Altar before you used your ticket to go to another Kami teleport!!Yeah, I should have clarified. Departure side of the teleport is where you were before you used the teleport. Arrival is after.

Ohhh, oh yea, almost forgot, Kami teleport circle.. yea.. circle = round.. stones around the base are in a circle, the spinning idol.. well.. it goes.. round..
There is no 'side' to a circle

Making more sense to me now, all Kami followers spend countless hours running back to the teleport to stand next to the little furballs, staring at the spinning idol, until they pass out, when they wake up they think they teleported there, perfect, right on spot with the Kami, they really got people brainwashed if they go to those extremes.
Karavan on the other hand, we like to use our tickets anywhere and everywhere, so we do not go back to find a Departure side, its below us to try to go to those extremes.
We learned what 'round' meant eons ago, thats it, all Karavan we need to remove this evil Kami presense from the land before they brainwash anyone else into thinking that they have a departure side!!!
Edit: My 3 year old daughter thinks its a big hair pin, helps keep the Kami's hair in place I guess..
