General Rule, Player Base Question, Participation Requested

Interesting that a request for peace is met with such hostilities. That some try to rationalize how killing a defensless harvester is somehow honorable or justified under certain conditions (like I want the spot) amazes me. Those who claim such, almost always are the ones who cry foul when it happens to them.

Now I personally am not a fan of PvP, I will try to avoid those areas of the root, and PvP in general. Just for a minute though consider this, we are among the largest 3 guilds in the game, and the other 2 are our friends. We all support peace to any reasonable harvester, do you really think it wise to openly oppose people who at any given time compose almost 1/4 of the player base? Maybe you just like a challenge, I can respect that, but if you liked a challenge you would not kill harvesters now would you? Now that said there are a few uber guilds out there that may support this PvP, if you speak for them, great, of course all of them have enough honor to sign their name to their postings.

In the end though the down and dirty of the root will not be decided by a couple of guilds making pacts or signing agreements, it will be decided by each and every player on an individual level. If you chose to be a jerk, then I am willing to bet you have already made your decision and will kill at will. Don't expect any healings from those you have been killing though.

Last of all I would like to adress the comment that those who chose not to PvP are weak. This is a game and we all chose to play as we see fit. There are many good players who chose not to PvP. To say we are all week really shows a level of imaturity I am shocked to see in someone using full sentances and tieing there own shoes. Still, if you really want to show me what a tough guy you are ... meet me in real. I play the game for fun, if I want to fight other people I do it in real. I can arrange a ring in almost any state, just let me know tough guy.

Did I mention that, THAT SPOT -=points=- IS ALL MINE yes its all mine and any greedy harvester who takes it will Feel my Peacful fashion consulting wrath!

That seems pretty resonable to me. If someone took your goldmine would you hand them daisys and say "we are all friends here," NO you would shoot them in the face and make more profit for yourself !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no problem with sharing. I do have a problem with reckless and needless killing. I absolutely support this idea on a personal level and of course back my guild in all ways. The nice part about this game is the versatility. There is so so so much to do. I play to relax and have fun... Remembering at all times that it is a game. So if someone is there, so what. I have lots of other things I can do and lots of other spots I can harvest. If you are high enough level to make it to the root, then you are high enough level to know several different spots. I've also never run into anyone that wasn't willing to share. Most harvesters I know are fun, enjoyable people that have similar ideals that I do. So there are a few of you out there that are not. Shrug.. So be mean.. hate us all.... laugh.. it's a game... Like I care. I have my friends. I have my guild.

But I will NOT tolerate needless and reckless killing and will take to the defense of those that are harmed.

I am hoping that this is all a joke, and josephm is just egging people on here. Because it is pretty damn funny, and I have to say that I did lol reading it.

I'm Baldy in game. Quite likeable, and I've showed about twenty non-guildies assorted safe spots (including routes) to Q200+ excellent materials. However, I appreciate competition and one thing I will not tolerate is a terrible arguement. And what does in game names matter anyways? Tetra and I have an argument over PvP that gets pretty heated. I get home from work and run up to see Tetra killing Messabs.

Also keep in mind. I largely find harvesting boring. I love harvesting with people, leveling up my friends who are lower than me if I can afford the time, or just because I'm bored and want to chat. I'm the one who gets in the tour guide mood. I've only recieved one tour myself, and that was from a guildy.

Good to hear.. Sorry to make it more than it was.. Sometimes we make a joke and others take us seriously.. and sometimes it is the reverse. The group we have is not a PvP group. That is not to say that we are totally against it. But we would like to see it in a controlled manner. The arena and duel ability is a great solution. So it means a lot to us.

We still stand by Zumwalt's original post, that we will not attack any harvester in the PR and that we will defend our harvesters, and all others who agree to this, to the fullest.

PS.. I totally understand being in the tour guide mood myself.. hehe Love showing around the newbies. Good to have new blood in the game.

I am unsure where PVP will lead in Ryzom. But, the way it is right now, there are a small number of zones that are open pvp. Yes, they contain some of the better resources in the game, but are not the only/best sources. I am primarily a harvester myself, so I understand where this requested truce is coming from, but I think it is doomed to fail. If you wish to harvest safely, do so in a safe area. If you wish to harvest in the PVP areas, do so in a large group, or be prepared to run like hell when you see someone coming.

I am not a griefer, and never actively harass anyone (other than the folks responsible for poorly thought out/coded patches *glare*). But PVP is here. I think we need to accept that running around in weak groups or solo in PVP areas is pretty much an invitation to be attacked. Attempting a truce of this sort is noble, but how will you validate/verify anything? Will you hunt me down and kill me because harvester_1 has sent you a /tell claiming I killed him?
