you can thank several people for that
1. the people who financed the whole thing and forced a release on nevrax that was way too early
2. the hordes of players screaming for stuff they want ingame NOW, and complaining if it is even one day later than announced

Sorry you don't grasp the game mechanics. Travel to a land you havent advanced harvesting in yet. Have you traveled to any other lands yet? When you get there, set an extract to q90, and try to pull a mat. When you have done that, you will understand. You say you can still level if you can pull a mat? Try it, then come back and post.
In the meantime, go back to watching folks die right next to you without helping them. It is what you are good at.
I went over and read this...and despite the opposites of our opinions, that has to be the most sensible statement I have seen on this subject yet.
Face it, MMORPGs are not made for solo play, it's only doable as an after thought rather than an intent. I see nothing here that will prevent my continuing to gain in PR other than the fact that I might have to work <gasp> in cooperation with a partner.
Considering open PvP is a reality for PR, people should be happy at the thought of mining in teams.
Unless you can absolutely show me how beyond all shadow of a doubt how I will NEVER EVER gain any further skill in PR forage, I refuse to get excited about this.

Are you saying the "almost 100%" is just since yesterday? It wasn't "almost 100%" previously.

Already tried it. Yes, the results aren't as good, but it is not (at least wasn't before today) as bad as you imply and tetra says.
My current PR forage level is 52. I gained that one level above 51 by extracting PR amber (solo) with a q100 extraction stanza. It was slower than Matis foraging, and mostly I failed to pull q100 mats (I was getting anything from q15 to q70 or so), and the XP was not great, but levelling was doable. This was about a week ago. I'm still trying to find out what you say has changed since yesterday that *now* makes PR foraging impossible. I'm not saying you're wrong, I just saying I don't know what you're claiming has changed in the patch.

So I just went, post-patch, to Tryker, where my forage level is 64. I used my highest extraction stanza (q140, 76 levels above my "YYY forage") on a resin source outside Windermeer, and pulled 5 q50 mats before I stopped the extraction due to imminent explosion. I got 807 XP.
IOW, this whole issue has NOTHING to do with what's going on in PR today.

>>"See the problem now?"
I just went, post-patch, to PR, where my forage level is 64. With that same q140 extraction stanza, I was unable to extract anything.
So yes, I see the problem, as you describe it. However, you still haven't really given me the information I asked for. You say that, now, PR forage skill level of 130 is needed (aside from 140 skill somewhere to get 150 extraction stanza).
I may have missed it, but this is new information in this thread, and I have 2 comments on it.
First, where did this information come from? Who said 130 is the level? Is it reliable or speculation?
Second, assuming this level requirement is true, then it is clearly a bug, or if you like a defect, in the game. It's not a nerf, it's not a change, it's not a variation, it's not an enhancement. It's just a mistake. I don't understand why it helps getting angry this way about a bug -- and Zyran is clearly very, very angry.

Sorry, edited my post. I hadnt realised that there were q100 sources in the roots, so my figures were out.

Nope.. Zyran is fed up. After playing with the complete BS of a patch today, after watching that patch crash the game over and over.. I am now treated to a MOTD telling me not to take any missions if I value my character.
EXCUSE ME? Is this really a beta test? Am I REALLY paying to play a game where they implement such ****ty patches they have to warn me off from playing to avoid losing my character? This has gone from bad management to totally unnaceptable. A RESPONSIBLE company would first TEST their changes, and on those 'rare' occasions when ugly bugs slipped through (as opposed to every single patch), they would roll back, or at the very least lock the server to protect the character I have spent many months paying to develop. I know that I break no ones heart saying this.. but that was the last straw for me. I am done paying for this unfinished product.
Sorry to rant in the forums today.. I normally vent in guildchat -- it just spilled over. Good luck to those of you who stick it out.. Maybe someday this game will be worth paying to play. Today it isn't.

Not true. Ask anyone who plays EQ2 and you'll find out that zones have a mix of creatures in them that can either be soloed or grouped. MMORPGs allow massive amounts of people to play in a common environment but even then forcing cooperation shouldn't be the rule of thumb. The game should give you ample freedom to both play solo or play in a group when you so desire.
