Noob Question

1/of infinite question) Healing spell don't give experince how is possible to rise a Healer?

2) What are the difference between race?

Hi Arafell,

Healing spells do give XP, but you need to be fighting mobs to collect it. Casting heal spells on people when you aren't engaged in combat will not earn you xp - it would be far too easy to sit at the respawn spots healing everyone who died :)

If you mean are there differences in healing spells between races, the answer is no - the spells are all the same, and their effects are all the same. Spells can be impacted by several factors however - your current malous/penalty (wearing armour that is too heavy for a mage etc.), and the stats on your Power Amp gloves (if you have amp gloves). Power Amps are a great way to boost the efficiency and effect of all spells.

1.1So for gain exp with heal i need to be in a group is that right?

2.1 if i Wear an heavy armor the cost of the healing spell will rise? i do a custom healing spell at full range with a stanza (-) 3 sap and it cost to me about 16 sap point is this right? i've to dress more light ;) weapon have some impact in this?

1. Yes you really need to be in a team to gain xp from heal. Healing your team mates while they fight something is the only way to gain XP from heal.

2. Heavy armour will reduce the range and power of your spell because it has penalties. To be a truly effective mage you need a set of armour that gives no penalties. To find out how much penalty you are getting press the P key in game, this brings up your player info window (hope I'm not teachng you to suck eggs!). Near the bottom right is details of the penalty you incur from your armour. Ideally as a mage you want this to be zero.

Also you are better using amps when casting to get boosts to your spells. If you are holding a weapon you will also get penalties.

3) What is an amp? object stanza spell incantation....

this game has realy many option!

A 'Power Amp' is effectively a Melee Weapon - you equip it on both hands when casting spells. Amps are purchased from the Melee Weapon Merchant - most of the time there are two Melee merchants, check both to see which one sells amps (they are very chunky gloves). Alternatively, if you have crafting friends or contacts, they may be able to make some amps for you. A third option is to ask politely in the Region chat area, and see if anyone can help.

Amps are equipped just like a sword, however they have no penalties for spell casters, and actually help to *boost* most statistics for a spell. For example, if you take a standard healing spell that heals 400HP, it will do exactly that - heal for a maximum of 400HP. However, I have Amps with generally 72% stat boosts in all areas - using the spell above, I can actually heal just over 500HP most of the time.

I don't know if power amp is what they are called on the North American server, but on the European English server they are called "Magic Amplifiers" and that's how you can find them in the shops and that's what they are called when crafting. They look like a big pair of gloves and they count as a 2 handed melee weapon. Completely separate from the pair of gloves as an armour part. The Magic Amplifier goes into your hand as a weapon, unlike the armour gloves.

Noob to Noob here is a clarification of the magic amp issue.

When you start the game in the newbie lands, you will at some point want a magic amplifier to aid you when you cast magic spells. It can add bonuses to lots of things, specifically it can reduce the mana (sap) cost of spells, among many other things.

You will find these magic Amps at one of the two melee weapon merchants in any newbie city. Although both have Melee Weapon merchant above their heads, ONE sells only one-handed weapons , the other sells ONLY two-handed weapons. As mentioned by other posters, magic amps are considered two-handed weapons and are only sold by that two handed melee weapon merchant (in the newbie lands).

So, look for the melee merchant with the big BIG weapon, that's the guy.

Also, on heavy armor and so on. You'll find that for magic light armor has no negative. Use the P key and look for "malus". Malus stands for bad, mal in french is equal to bad. Malcontent is an example of a word using that sort of meaning in english.

I used to have a guide up in the Questions area but that has been nuked as a section. Look for a small ? mark in the upper right corner of the window that pops up with the P key (and in many other windows). It will provide contextual help. You'll find the ? for the right click info on items in inventory most helpful. It talks about many of the attributes of items, such as the magic amp, and describes exactly what malus is.

Malus also has negative impact on your ability to harvest (you will use more focus) and other things. It explains most of it right in there.

Now I'm going to go shoot myself in the head for being dumb enough to post again.
