I said a couple times in that discussion: "It doesn't matter if we are getting 3k, or 300xp - if we are having fun, then the desired result has been accomplished. There is no need to go in search for more xp and possibly risk the group members."
Considering that we ranged in levels from 30-60 at the time (with only one healer and on the lower end of that), I most certainly didn't want to risk running around in DD or wherever
just to get xp. This was the disagreement.
That's all fine and good, but my point and issue was (and to keep the facts straight here) that I didn't see any reason why you couldn't be a power player as well as play with friends and having fun.
You insisted that, to have fun, one must get everything out of it that they can. Or at least you insisted that
you must get everything you can to enjoy it. Again, I was not going to risk anybody (
especially since it'd be quite a swim back to wherever we might have been) for the express intent for higher xp unless they wanted to. Since you left we have had a hunt where the generally expressed idea was we were hunting too low - it was simply
too easy, so we went off somewhere to hunt higher - which is perfectly fine, but we all died almost immediately in the new location. Not only does this show that, when more than one person just wants more xp, we can move - but that for the next entire hour we did not earn anything at all. Which, was my point to you.
We do have power players in the guild, and we are perfectly happy having them. We do not have the ability to power
them though, and when they choose to do so, they do so with other friends. Sometimes we all go out and try fun stuff together, and it's fun (especially since we have a few healers pretty high in ability now
) - but that's because we decide where to go and we go there, without worrying about the xp we get.
