Problem: Ryzom Crash reset desktop video settings

The same thing happened in beta. One of the few times I turned up gamma on the ingame settings, the client crashed. Now, my desktop settings are screwed. Far too light. I've played with the hardware and software settings, but I can't diplicate my old non-washed-out, good looking desktop. In beta, I solved this by fixing the settings in game and then running around a buggy area until I crashed again. (Un)fortunately, the game is now stable enough that I can't predict a crash. Any way for me to get my old desktop settings back?

[EDIT: Ooo, wait. never mind. Problem solved. Reset the video settings in Ryzom and exit game. Restart game and from login screen use Task manager to kill the process. Video settings now restored. Not exactly elegant, but it works.
