November 10th, 2004 - patch 21
Re: November 10th, 2004 - patch 21
You've had to use focus for craft since I started crafting. You ONLY use focus when adding max HP/stam/sap/focus to items.
Re: November 10th, 2004 - patch 21
As a follow up: the above is correct, I am just used to crafting with bonuses that I forgot this wasn't the default.thanakar wrote:The only time you use focus in crafting is if you are adding bonuses to the crafted item. For just regular grind no bonus stuff focus is never used, and if it is used it must be in such small amounts that I've never seen a focus drain.
Degraded items still occur as well as crafting action failures (up to 5 in a row!!). A GM stated that the crafting patch was to prevent successful actions from producing a final result less than the lowest quality used.

Re: November 10th, 2004 - patch 21
It used to be that if you used your 100 craft skill on q50 mats the product would never be q50, but something less. The patch is aimed in part at fixing this. After all it is not really reasonable that someone who can craft 100 stuff cannot use the skill to sucessfuly craft q50. Note if the crafter used the craft q50 option sucess rates were as they should be.
Re: November 10th, 2004 - patch 21
SOME crafting of higher levels or "fancy skills" DO use focus, but MANY don't. EI crafting Q40 armor with NO bonuses uses...NO focus, but adding the HP or focus bonus to the armor WILL burn some focus (not much and this was PRE patch one, haven't gotten the bonus post patch, so I am not exactly sure of EXACTLY how much focus is burnt with exactly how much bonus. If you have specifics, PLEASE feel free to inform us!)
I am sure that the "run of the mill" crafting is was and will remain Focusless, but the higher end stuff will remain focus burning.

Re: November 10th, 2004 - patch 21
Has anyone noticed anything strange about the combat in this patch?
I had only a few minutes to try it out, but in those few minutes I fought scowling gingo, growling ragus, some other ragus, and roaming bodoc. Except for twice every attack by one creature type was for exactly the same damage. Some times it was partially deflected by armor, but it sure seemed wierd that every scowler attack was for 133 damage.
Are others seeing this too?

Focus use = boost lvl x 10lyrah68 wrote: so I am not exactly sure of EXACTLY how much focus is burnt with exactly how much bonus. If you have specifics, PLEASE feel free to inform us!)
ie lvl 5 boost will use 50 focus (per craft)
lvl 7 boost will use 70 focus
lvl 10 boost will use 100 focus
etc etc

Amazingly, this works out to 1 focus per QL Might be easier to remember it that way.ozric wrote:Focus use = boost lvl x 10

Hey everyone,
I notice you guys are taking this all in stride. However, I dropped the ball on getting these patch notes out to you. You should have had this in the NA forums just like the others had in their forums.
I gave Cerest yesterday off and then had a complete brain fart about putting up those patch notes. This is why we love Cerest.
Have fun in Ryzom everyone!
