After patch 1, combat time/strategy was reduced to "kill it before it kills you."
Besides the lacking support of the new damage amounts that the mobs deal, what else do you think needs to be changed (combat or other)?
Me personally I'd like to see more of the weapons be able to be used. Meaning, with the increased damage you need to "kill it before it kills you." I mean now it seems like almost the only way to go is to use a 2 handed weapon of some sort. You don't see too many 1h running around anymore due to the damage out put of the monsters.
Is light armor even feasible for melee? I for one have not really tested light armor in battle, but logically it would seem that you wouldn't want to try using anything less than medium since for instance, I have q70 heavy armor and a Scowling Ragus can bite me for 200+ damage.
With the new changes in combat though, I must say that I like what they did with added effect of heals (giving more life). That helps a lot.
Something I've always wanted them to add though is the ability to heal yourself with magic. I know we get self heal and everything, but it kinda of stinks when you have high level defense magic and you can't heal yourself at all with your spells. It makes sense that in not being able to heal yourself would make the game more geared to group play, but I think it'd be nice to have self healing with spells of some sort.. whether it cost more sap increase on self heal spells or less life given. I dunno maybe thats just me though
I dunno what the armor situation is in the other race towns, but in Yrkanis when i'm looking at the vendor armor, ever notice that the npc armor will be for example have... lets say 45% protection and 0 max vs slash max vs.. etc?
I think they need to raise that just a little bit.
I like the new resale thing when selling to the vendors though. It helps get some of the crafting resources around and enables crafters to sell some things other than spam the region chat.
But anyways, thats what I've come up with in the last few minutes. Tell me what you think about my ideas and anything else you can come up with

You're right about the heal system, it's ridiculous that you can only heal yourself once every 2+ minutes. This leads to a lot of downtime, you know, spending more time resting than fighting, which is somewhere betwixt hypnotic and immensly boring.
There needs to be some practicable way to escape from mobs. Currently I cannot outrun anything even with the run buff that lasts about 5 seconds, and if I get ganked, I die. Every time. That is not my idea of fun.
There needs to be some reward for adventuring. Currently there is no incentive to adventure except to level up, all the loot is only for crafters. HZ also made that collossal blunder, and most of the people who quit, quit for that very reason. Most people who play these games DO NOT like to craft. Unless there is some incentive for them to get out and level up besides "I need to level up so I can fight stronger mobs," the game will fail.

I agree with that, there need to be armor and weapon drops added into the game, that would help out due to the very few crafters.

Have you ever looked at the light armor? I just thought about it. It has a 0 requirement. Does that mean theoretically a level 1 person could wear lets say level 200 armor? =/ just a thought.
This is real dumb, but they need to fix the exchange thing. Its always like so and so wants to trade blah would you like to trade with "her" whether you're a guy or girl... or duel... etc..
Oh yes, spawn rate, the spawn rate for the carnivores is nuts. I fought 3 ragus once and by time I killed the last one they had respawned.. eww
