A humble request, and a world spanning pilgrimage.

Post by zzeii »

With the upcoming meeting in Pyr this sunday, in combination with the recent epidemic amongst the wildlife being subjected to Goo, has left many people lacking in the ability to attend.

So my request...

I would like for all those of high level to come and help escort representatives from various guilds to Pyr. From Zorat, through Tryker, continuing on to Matis, and finally ending in Pyr. We, with our knowledge of the terrain, and skill at arms, can make this happen. The kitin menace is a threat to everyone. Whether you follow the Kami or the Karavan, whether you are Zorat, Tyker, Matis, or Fyros. It is a problem we all face. And unless we set aside our differences, we will all see we have built, all of our hopes and dreams, destroyed by the kitin.

The pilgrimage...

This saturday, at noon EST, I will start the trek in Min-Cho. Heading to the Trench of Trials, on to Bounty Beaches, to Liberty Lake, stopping for a 15 minute break in Fairhaven, picking up the Tryker emisaries, onward to the Lagoon of Loria, proceeding to Heretic's Hovel, Fleeting Gardens, stopping in Majestic Gardens at Yrkanis to further include the Matis deligates, and another 15 minute break. Then continuing on to the Knoll of Desent, Hidden Source, Savage Dunes, Sawdust Mines, Outlaw Canyon, and finally to Pyr in the Imperial dunes.

This will not be for the purpose of getting spawn points for everyone. It is to lead the guild deligates to Pyr. It will be a long trek, and a dangerous one.

*GUIDELINES*
-Be there before Noon. The sooner we are ready, the sooner we make it there.

-Please keep it to 1 member per guild for deligates. Extra people on escort detail will be helpful, but to keep the overall size of the pilgrimage lower, we may have to turn some of the lower level escorts away. (The bigger the force to move, the harder it is, plain and simple).

-You will be required to follow directions AND to pay attention. If you must afk during the trip, tell your group, and set a non-combatant on follow.

-This is not an xp trip. Total wipeouts can occur. There will be no switching around of people inbetween groups to get them xp. As I said, it will be a dangerous trip. If you are afraid of increasing your dp, then do not come. And don't gripe about not being able to make it either.

-Region will be used to direct the movements. So keep the channel clear for announcements. Only exception to this, is to announce an aggro, so it can be dealt with appropriately.

-If you are coming as a deligate (and not as an escort), please refrain from joining into the offensive combat (barring dire circumstances). Healing will be fine and welcome. Nuking the wrong thing can cause bad things to happen.

-If you are the deligate of your guild, and know you have connection problems. Please send someone else in your stead. If you wish to help escort and have a faulty connection, I'm sorry, but we will have to turn you away. Disconnections in dangerous areas are always bad. This is for consideration for all who will participate in this journey.

-Please, for the love of Jena, allow the leader to lead this. Mixed orders over region can get everyone killed. Causing the trek to take even longer.

-Expect this to possibly continue on through the entire day. It is a very long trip, and accidents can happen. So please plan your day accordingly for this. (I understand that people do have other RL concerns that keep them from playing all day).

Having had experience in this journey in it's entirety, I will be taking point for pulls/directing the overall movement. I will be looking for someone willing to coordinate grouping of the escorts and deligates. (Pandorae where are you *sniff*).

Now, if you wish to come as either a deligate or escort, please post here. Listing your levels (for escorts, lvl 125+ in either magic or fight) or guild affiliation (for deligates).

**Please do not flame on this thread. It is for organizing a server-spanning player run event. As I am coordinating it, I will be making any final decisions. I will not refuse any deligate on the basis of level/race/faction(kami/karavan)/guild(with the aforementioned 1 deligate per guild), I do reserve the right to ask anyone to leave for poor conduct or for the safety of the journey(should this actually occur). Acting poorly amongst the guild deligates will not only reflect poorly on you, but also your guild.**

While I personally have already made it to Pyr and have the tickets for it, I will see if we in the Pilgrims of Atys can still muster up enough forces to help sufficiently with this. There are always new members who need to get the spawns anyways.

This is a commendable effort and we will see you there in Pyr.

Please feel free to contact myself, Gorran, or Mekos in game for CP support. You will not find a more skillful, fluid, and precisely organized Zoran team for this endeavor.

If we add a team to this endeavor, it will be our perogative that they are kept together in order to tap into the teamwork that we have spent so long generating.

One last note. We are done with our tolerance of lesser homins and their endless slanders. If this is to rear its head on the trip, it will be dealt with in the harshest manner at our disposal. As guild leader and main representative of Comitatus Praetorian, I will not only endorse this from my guild, but it will be expected. I know that Zzei is an exemplary leader, and I state this only to insure that everyone is on the same page.

I thank you both for your support. And I do ask that everyone lay their differences aside for this trip. We haven't seen our enemies, the kitin, feuding amongst themselves, so a general truce during this trip is the least that can be expected.

Zzei, amazing idea and great opportunity. One question... will those of us at, say (picks a random number that ever-so-coincidentally happens to be her own level) 85 melee be welcome? I saw your request for 125+. No exceptions?

Thanks,
Tin.

That will depend on a couple factors:

a)The size of the escorting force
b)The size of the guild deligate troop

In all honesty, I would love to take everyone who wanted to go. But for safety of this journey, limiting the number of people coming will be prudent. So I will have to wait and see.

The level 125+ was for those in the escorting force. They will be the ones dealing with all the unpleasantness along the way. Which those mobs will be lvl 170-200+ in some of the worst areas.

If there is a small number of deligates, then a few unguilded may be invited for the journey. But again, this is not something I can guarantee.

I just wanted to say that this is very much the case with difficult raids. The two largest public bounty beaches raids that I was on didn't stand a chance, just because of the control needed and high number of people. Please treat the trip seriously, and respect the raid leader asking for extra teams or non-delegates to stay behind. We're still post patch-1, and the trip will be even harder now.

Good idea Zzei, if I don't see you in the Wastelands again today just let us know what you need by Friday so we can rally as many Melinoe as possible to assist with this community event. I will bring my extra amps and armor, this will take awhile :)

As you may or may not know, I have been attempting this journy, and will continue to, by myself. However, should I not make it by the time this pilgrimage begins, I would be honored to be a deligate for the Defenders of Zoran. Though a few of us are very outspoken, it is our desire to be in attendence if possible.

Respectfully,
Rhedyn
