May I make a suggestion?
How about for then next few days everyone makes a nice new character in their favourite land.
A hangs around newbie land to welcome the new people.
This will have a number of effects:
It will bring the remaining comunity together.
It will allow the new people to get some help.
It will remind us all whats its really like to be level 1 and totally dependant on others.
You never know it might remind us all why we love the game sooooo much.
Just a thought.

Well I'm from the Euro English server and I don't have any problem finding people to team with.. I regularly team with the people in my guild who are 50+levels above me, and still get lots of xp and have lots of fun.
On the subject of the language difference, I found that the one time someone spoke in french on the region chat, everyone asked them (politley at first) to talk english, but they refused and then an argument started until they decided to apologise in english. That was just with one person so I don't think it would work if they combined all of the servers, ofc just combining the US and euro english servers would not have this problem.
I think the lag would make gameplay so prohibitively bad that it would force away the new players it was trying to encourage. Personally due to my bad net connection (a high contention ratio on a T1 line at my university) I don't dare to go into Pyr unless I absolutely have to.
And in response to the person that said they were playing on the euro english server and were worried about it beocming empty; I don't think there is much chance of that, its just that a large number of the people active in the english forums are the whiners who hate and don't play the game anymore, with most of the players ignoring them and getting on with the game.
So in conclusion I think merging the servers would be a bad idea, and I hope that the viewpoint of someone from the other side of the pond was helpful to someone

I am in the same guild as you Sprite, and despite several attempts every night I have problems finding someone my own level to team with. I know I can go join the guild team killing at the stronghold near Dyron, but that is way out of my league and not really fun. All I do there is stand with the rest of the group, waiting for someone to pull a monster, then hope to survive long enough to get some exp from it. Teaming in a game for me, is not watching tv while waititng for monsters to be pulled.
What I miss are people hanging out in the center of town, chatting on region channels or in guild, someone I can team with my own level to go exploring areas and try kill something.
To me Ryzom does not seem to be a massive mulitplayer game, there is nothing massive about the amount of players in it.

hmm... I guess it must be easier for me as a healer because its not so dependent on what the mob lvl is, but this is going off the topic of this thread so I guess I'll just say, next time you come on, if I'm around then I'll go kill some stuff with you somewhere else because I want to lvl in my offensive magic, which is harder to do in the stronghold hunt.dirak wrote:I know I can go join the guild team killing at the stronghold near Dyron, but that is way out of my league and not really fun.
