What about newbies, who went from the hardest ramp of any MMORPG to a game verging on the unplayable?
A few comments on the subject :
As a newbie I find it not unplayable, the opposite in fact.
I read a whole lot about all the things I could choose, checked out the descriptions on the bricks I could get, with trail and error selected good stanza's/weapons/hunting/harvesting spots. Made weapons and armor, experimented with different materials. I learned the way ryzom is supposed to be played, wich is verry different then the last world I was appart of.
It can be challenging and if your not a fan of reading post on boards and looking up information starting out as a newbie can be verry hard and challenging. The ingame help can be verry lacking but there are other players who help and awnser questions. It took me a while to adjust and find the way that is the most rewarding and fun to me.
Ryzom was a new challenge for me and so far it has proven to be fun and rewarding experiance and I'm looking forward to be appart of it for a long time to come

Secondly, there are people that moan because they are new and can't kill anything. Well thats not true if you work together you can kill things, and in fact if you read my player guide about zorai fighters/mages you'll see how to kill stuff solo as well.
If you can't accept the challenge - stop moaning about it - and go play something else.
The game is good, the challenge is tough, the devs are awesome. Learn, adapt and overcome.....

One minor thing I've come across but only on the forums: The way things are said is sometimes downright offensive. How does this look to new players ? a bunch of bickering hotheads! Do these forums invite new people to drop a friendly welcome message?
I agree with Xorte this 'moaning' is not good. I am a paying player to and I want to 'excercise' my right as a customer to ask for moan free boards

It works just like real life, moan and get nowhere, be constructive and make a change, wel sometimes
Another challenge I like to put forward:
If you think somebody writes something that, to you, is a blatent lie, or totaly not in agreement with your own views in gameplay matters, please ... please try to be a bit civilised, constructive and helpfull.
Thank you,
