Question on armor usage.
Question on armor usage.
As a level 61 2 handed meleer I wear level 70 armor. I always get armor 10 to 20 levels higher that way I can "grow" into it. Now it worked just fine when I started leveling my dual weild sword/ dagger combo, they were both at level 50 from the branching. But when I use my magic skills which are at level 21 right now, should I have a seperate suit of armor, or is it dependant on my highest skill?

Re: Question on armor usage.
So the fact that people are looking but noone is answering means one of two things, either A. noone actually knows or has ANY idea, or B. everyone hates me and will not answer my questions.

Re: Question on armor usage.
In my 'hard data' post some indicated that it seems that armour level and player level does affect performance. However, they could not verify this. It did 'seem' that my character with armour closer to fighting level dodged more often, but my data sample size is too small to determine anything.
What you should do when you have widely varying levels in fight and magic is another question. Good luck. Perhaps trial and error is needed here, since how things work since Patch 2 has changed so dramatically.

It's B). But don't worry, they do hate me, too, so you are not alone. Actually I think it's C), meaning people do not understand what you are asking.
I'm slightly confused about what you are writing as well. The lvl of your armor has no effect on you melee skills. As lvl 50 warrior you will hit equally hard and often if you have a lvl 10 heavy, a lvl 50 heavy or a lvl 100 heavy. The only thing the quality of a armor effects is the amount of damage to you it can prevent.
Similar, a mage will cast equally bad in any heavy armor set.
Generally: Always ty to get the best heavy (or med, if you prefer this) your Consitution allows you or the best light armor (if you want to do magic) you can find and afford (light armor has no stat restrictions).
There is a rumor that if you use armor or weapons above your lvl they will degrade faster, but I haven't seen actual proof of this.

Re: Question on armor usage.
now we all need to wear heavy armor to survive? I can see where this leads to... STAR WARS GALAXIES, where either you had composite armor elitely made... or it was pointless wear armor.
this is what nevrax want to turn the game into? before I didn't hurried to get levels I was happy I could relax, enjoy the game, roleplay, harvest, do some fighting once in awhile AND level. now either I swat my butt off to level, or do the rest.
if the idea of FUN of nevrax is having to go out wearing elite equipment, heavy armor, rings and all that crap to improve hitpoints, super well made swords, and all this crap JUST to walk around in an EASY area... I am out of here guys... I do not like incessantly grinding for levels to get more powerful equipment to get swatting my ass off for it costantly it becomes a work, not a game anymore.

Re: Question on armor usage.
Hmm i noticed u tossed some bait for me on the petition thread loyats . Sorry to disappoint, but i reserve my witty comments for worthwhile threads, and the most annoying of whiners
As for your question, if u intend to level up your magic skills, i would seriously recommend light armor, which as shrike stated, has no requirements, and gives u no action penalty. From what i have seen, as long as you can wear the armor, u benefit from its full protectiveness even if u use a lvl 1 skill.

Am i supposed to write something witty here ?
