C++ runtime error when patching

Post by ecdragon »

After initial install from CD.
After initial patch.
After creation of account
Launch game.
Select NA server.
Screen comes up with optional patch files.
Next screen initiates patch. 1st patch file is ./unpack/exedll__00002.Patch
Downloads ok, but when "Applying delta: ...", get MS Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error:

"Program: C:\Program Files\Ryzom\client_ryzom_rd.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

Hit OK shuts game down.
Running XP.

Reinstalling from scratch right now, just to see if its a corrupted file.

Hello, could you copy and paste your DxDiag.txt?

This file is generated by the DirectX Diagnostics program that is installed automatically with DirectX. To access this program, open the Start menu, choose Run, and enter "dxdiag" into the dialog box. Please visit the Display and Sound tabs and run any tests that are available, then choose the ''Save All Information'' option to create the DxDiag.txt file.

Thanks.

Hey, I'm having some problems with my network, and it is going up and down a lot, with a service call in to provider, but ryzom seems to emit a lot of the C++ runtime errors boxes on launch, when it can't connect. If it is running, there are FS disconnects, but it trains back up periodically. But if it can't connect at the start, it crashes. :(
Don't know if that is related to the OPs problem, thought i'd mention the behavior from a known problem network. (better get it fixed soon too, qwest basstids.) ;)

The error occurs after the file has been downloaded.
It seems to fail just after it finishes unpacking the file.

Could you try running the Ryzom configuration tool ("Configure The Saga of Ryzom" on your desktop) and under the Display settings, change to OpenGL rather than Direct 3D? This might resolve your issue.

Upgrading to DirectX 9.0c has also cleared a few problems for some people.
