Saga of Ryzom? Whats that?

I went to see if Best Buy had a copy of SoR yet, the guy behind the counter didn't know what I was talking about so he asked his "buddy" on the floor. He said the game was cancelled a couple months ago.

EB did me one better though. The guy there said the game was delayed and is now a Xmas release.

Anyone happen to know if Costco will be selling SoR?

Those guys behind the counter were the folks willing to work there for the lowest pay. His buddy on the floor probably even less... they have computer databases so you dont have to rely on the lowest common denominator, the disgruntled worker.

I was a bit amazed by the dumbfounded responses I got from EBgames and Gamestop. I had to repeat the title three times to the guy at EB. Come on, the world doesn't revolve around what's coming out for your Xbox. If I asked about GT4, or GTASA, or WOW, or HL2 isn't it strange you probably all know what those titles are.
Whatever you do, DO NOT go to a big chain, like BB, or Circuit City, they put thier games on the shelf the following week. I thought everyone knew that.
I picked Ryzom up at a Gamestop on Wednesday, and the guy had to go in back to get the shipment. The said shipment contained three copies.
Frankly I see this as a good thing.
I have not met one leet dOOd in game. Everyone seems to be rather intent on figuring things out on their own. Everyone seems to know they have a good thing.
WOW, and EQ2 can have all the folks who have been following the game since its announcement. Really if your that devoted you deserve it.
I don't think this game would appeal to those kind of players. The questions, and whinning would be so predictable.

I'm pretty sure Nevrax has nothing at all against NA - we have many friends in Quebec you know -, it's just an independant company so you can't compare its capacity to advertise with for example EA or SoE. BTW i think Nevrax wants to be sure the game is running well before advertising in NA just to be sure they won't loose customers.

Nevrax does not have anything whatsoever against North America. Some would argue that Nevrax has done nothing BUT advertise here in North America for the last few months. It's sad that Cookie Monster ran into that kind of response from his/her local game vendors, but I assure you that it was not a calculated attempt on Nevrax' part to ensure a smooth launch.
