Weapons and Penalty
Weapons and Penalty
What does the action penalty on weapons do? I saw that for a dagger it was 0 while for a spear it was 30, but I was unable to notice any difference between the two. Thanks for any info...
Re: Weapons and Penalty
The Higher the penalty, the more it will cost to use an action (dependant on whether you chose it to take up health, stamina, sap, or focus).
If you wear Heavy Armor you will probably double the cost of using any actions, dependant on the stanzas and Option/Credits you put on it.
Whereas if you are wearing Light Armor you will have no penalty (good armor for offensive/defensive casters)

Just to build onto what 20mike said, the total Penalty is actually a percentage modifier. Whatever the cost of the action, its cost is increased the that percentage. Additionally, the higher the penalty, the higher the chances of failing a crafting action.

Re: Weapons and Penalty
You can hit info for an action that you want to perform and it will give you an update on all the penalties and such that the action will have when you use it. Just make sure you have the armor and weapons in hand that you want to use etc.
Re: Weapons and Penalty
Or sap or focus depending on the action, not to mention an increased chance of missing your target when fighting. You have to balance the penalty with the benefit of the protection.Cilar wrote:"eat" more starmina.
Re: Weapons and Penalty
Ok whats the true story on crafting with armor on? I understand about the penalty of med and heavy armor, but I see people insisting that crafting naked is better than crafting with light armor on that has no penalty. Not trying to be rude but would like a answer from someone that actualy knows the answer, I have heard enough "opinions" from both sides

Light armour has bulk.....tickany wrote:... but I see people insisting that crafting naked is better than crafting with light armor on that has no penalty.
Re: Weapons and Penalty
Light armor will not cause you to fail more often than wearing nothing - everything is determined by the penalty level your equipment has. So, for the sake of hominity, please put on some pants!tickany wrote:Ok whats the true story on crafting with armor on? On another note, the penalty should no longer affect crafting actions after Patch One, so you'll be able to wear whatever you like. Keep an eye out for more info in the full patch notes.
