I'm sure they will work things out eventually, but I must say I don't have much patience left for this sort of thing. I'm tired of paying money to game companies that think it's okay to jerk their paying customers around while they figure out what they are doing.
I agree with you Tovar and it's not like the MMORPG is something new anymore. There are enough of them out there to know what works and what doesn't. The xp thing isn't something that should have to be "figured out"...it should be obvious from other games what works and what doesn't. If things in this game still need to be figured out, it should still be in beta and I shouldn't have to pay for doing their testing.

Already canceled:

I liked solo melee - that's screwed up now
I liked solo mage - that's screwed up now
I liked crafting - that's screwed up now
I even liked harvesting - yeah, that's really screwed up

About the only thing that was done right was the new merchant system. Every other change was wrong. Now it will take a week or two of this garbage before they do a reset/rollback/whatever. then another month or two for "the return of patch 1" with all the problems corrected.

It's just not worth my time and certainly not worth wasting any more money on.

This game is not balanced. Ask anyone over level 100, there is nothing left for them to kill for exp unless you take an entire group against mobs that are the same level as you. This drops exp into the 100s.

I canceled my account already

I've cancelled my account as well, though I'm not giving up entirely. I'll continue to hope for the best and play until my time ends. After that, I'll continue to keep an eye on some of the fansite forums until my characters are auto-deleted from lack of use. I'm in love with the game's skill system, its unique story and its original races. Right now, I don't care for the gameplay, however, and it's not currently a game I can justify paying for. I really do hope the pendulum swings back, but I've spent a lot of time in other MMOs hoping things would improve (from my perspective); they rarely if ever do. I hope with all my heart this will be an exception.

Cancelled my account after playing patch 1 for 10 hours.

This patch is a blunder on so many levels.

If they correct this before my subscription runs out I may renew but I doubt it. The fact they understand so little about the game and listen so little to client feedback leads me to believe they wont correct a thing untill half their clients have quit.

WoW is my next destination. Atleast blizzard are programming and game play perfectionists. They would never release a bug ridden, game play killing patch like this.... or even suggest it.

Ryzom could have been great

I agree 100% with both of you. This Beta-ish stuff with a game that's post-launch isn't sitting too well with the paying customers right now.

I still can't believe people are complaining cause the TOTAL free ride of lightning fast chain kills 50 levels above us that gave max exp is over (hitting the cap every time -- we all know what a cap is meant to do, right? :P ).

Oh, and crafting is fine -- NPC vendors now sell q50, q100, q150, q200, and q250. Check all the cities of your race for different qualities.

Even though massive amounts of harvested mats won't be needed like we thought they would, they're still fixing it.

Why don't you guys think of this as an actual challenging game now, and not the cheese-fest we feel sorry for ourselves over cause we don't have it anymore.

Probably because they bought a game that was solo friendly, and now every single player is being forced to group and the ENTIRE game is still built around the old dynamic. Missions-set for solo players to accomplish, this includes the Fame, Kill, etc ones that no single person has a chance of doing unless your lvl 150 melee (which gingos in MG still hit me almost 100% of the time). You can forget missions in any other area. FG, KoD impossible without again finding a group to go take you off on a mission. The game was not ready for forced grouping, its not meant for it.

Too much too fast.
