Iala's always been an alarmist when it comes to PvP. PvP is soooo bad and eeeeevil that adding ANY PvP feature to the game means that Atys would suddenly be overflowed by a bunch of immature 12 years old gankers from WoW...

Hey... as soon as they learn that they can't be über within a month, that they need multiple 250s to be poweful in PvP, that their oh!-so-precious PvP gear is CRAFTED with RARE ingredients gathered through PvE and can't be repaired and that the community does not care for idiotic jerks... they'll be out of here in less time than it took to download the game and create an account.

Plus, there is NO benefit for gankers here, unless they really are guarding a ressource that they want to obtain. If they gank a digger that is harvesting supremes and they are lvl 50 in PR, they still don't get the supremes for themselves.

And ganking diggers and crafters is NOT a good way to get stuff crafted for you. So, unless you've already got multiples masters and the gear to go with it, ganking is not to your advantage here. And for wannabe ganker noobs fresh from "PvP grinders" who think they're all über and stuff... we'll just laugh at them when the caprynis in Pyr will gangbang them to death as they learn what "social herbies" mean... lol.

Ryzom is a very social game, and anyone who gets community aggro has smaller survival chances on this very beautifully deadly planet that is Atys.

Sorry for the rant, it's past 1 AM, I'm drunk, and fed up with the neverending PvP paranoia. PvP in Ryzom is and will always be an OPTION, not an obligation.

Hello??? PR isn't all PvP, and moreover the PvE zones are a perfectly viable alternative. One of the few good balancing acts left here tbh.

As useless as I think the current Dev team is, even I find it hard to believe they'd do anything as stupid and so obviously unpopular as you describe. I certainly am unable to read-in this kind of guff to what they've said thus far.

"offer" = a choice.

It's obvious if that choice is taken away, Ryzom loses one of it's core selling points. Sure there's no harm in reminding them of that, but wild exaggeration and fabrication just makes you look a tool, and doesn't do much for your argument.
