Don't bother exploring the game, just head on over to Pyr!

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

Jayce I'm not sure many that are left can appreciate how much the game has changed since launch.Call it dumbed down or Ryzom lite it's really a shadow of it's former challenge.I think the events like aggro free would be no biggie for a day if they returned us to the previous challenge level. Fount or even Muse could be deadly for a multiple Master once. Now it's just run across a zone time.

Yeah, you're right there Kil. That's what makes it even more sad.

Apparently it's still not easy enough, we must go as far as to spoon-feed the nublets high level content as soon as they touch mainland soil so that they may see a boss right off the bat.

We must remove anything that might cause the poor dears harm so that they can get their mitts on any teleport ticket they might desire.

OK, so this might be a little over-exaggerated, it's only a day or a few days, it's only some bosses or whatever. But really, how long do people think it takes to trek all over an empty Atys and therefore inadvertantly ruin a large portion of someone's Ryzom gaming experience?

I think its awesome to have a petting Zoo in Pyr. Ryzom has been around since 2004, why not show what people haven't had the ability to see before.

Great work to the Dev's and the GM's

p.s. you should make them attack able. even better you should add new bosses and make them harder! :D

Heaven forbid we should give people the option to enjoy the game as they see fit. I know many people who didn't take the opportunity to collect tps during the Halloween event because they thought it might spoil their experience. They could do that because it was optional. I know many others who loved it because it opened the world up to them, especially for casual players who don't have the time for three hours treks.

As for the bosses, there was just over a dozen out of how many? I loved being able to walk right up to them and study how they looked up close, how they moved, listen to the noises they make. Rather than seeing them in the blurred chaos of combat. I found the display really inspired me to explore and find these bosses in the wild, to experience the thrill of hunting them when they have their guards around them. The display did nothing at all to tell me how actually beat them.

But still, maybe Jayce has a good point, maybe it's vitally important Ryzom operate differently. So in respect to Jayce's opinion I have a few more suggestions:
1) We should get rid of those screenshots. Many of those 'other' mmos use them but it's not fair new players see the wonders of places like PR without having to work for it. Same goes for the fan videos.

2) We shouldn't trek people, it's just not fair that new players have masters just drag them around, it takes the personal achievement away from people.

3) Giving gear and cats to newbies should be seriously discouraged. After all, we are just helping them reach master sooner and free gear totally kills the need for them to work for anything.

4) Lets kill all the fan sites too. It's terrible they have helpful information that reveals the secrets of the game. That data took years of play to accumulate and making it freely available for casual players is just plain wrong.

I could go on but you get the point. I don't agree with any of the numbered points I just put forward, I actually love what the new team is doing. But I'm not one of the 'Old Timers' so that makes me part of the problem, not the solution, isn't that right Jayce? :D

Actually, all this talk of l33t multiple masters, etc is garbage. With one 250 melee skill, some mediocre parry HA, and you're head screwed on, you can pretty much go anywhere and see anything, solo. In the mean time there's plenty of low-mid level bosses to go find. So calling me elitist is a poor argument.

I had figured, and am glad some would choose not to trek during the TP free-for-all. But unfortunately some will just go "Oh, an official event, shiny! Must go!" without properly considering the consequences. It's like that silly harvest rite that effects your source times. Why on earth would they put something in that could mess up your avatar for life? Well, for some people, that's exactly what it does.

This isn't me saying "Oh, I've been here for years, I know best". This is me saying I can still recall some of the really cool stuff I did in the early years and it'd be a crying shame if other people didn't get to have the same, full, experiences.

Would be totally awesome if they just came up with some new stuff instead of trying to reinvent a perfectly good wheel.
