Think of guilds as your family.

Now think of what a mother can do for a little child that she dearly adores. That's what they can do for you.

But at the same time, always think of what you can do for your guild as well :)

In terms of what they can do, they can wage war on OPs in any lands and try to overtake them. Grant it, it's a bit more diffucult now because of forged alliances and faction wars.

Hope this helps a little :)

Guilds can take part in wars for Outposts, they are also like a support group offering friendship, advice, equipment etc.

The can also organise dig teams in high level areas like Prime Roots, to get materials to make top class equipment.

Guilds can also organise boss hunts, which also yield top class materials, plus the excitement of the battles.

Make sure to join a guild, who's membership is online at the same time as you.

I agree with the need for character movement improvement. Nothing wrong with the walking and running animations, but some emotes and idle animations are glitchy.

Ryzom is to eve what a giant rootball is to space :D

but seriously, ryzom is just as open as EVE in a different setting, ryzom also has open pvp areas although pvp is less rewarding than in eve (no loot), Ryzom also has factions that can pvp amongst eachother anywhere if they enable that option, EVE has its POS's, Ryzom has outposts, in EVE you build your ships to define your offensive/defensive power, in Ryzom you build your actions, pick your weapons, pick your armor. EVE has a lot of crafting but with set recipies, Ryzom has less different items to craft but a lot more meaning to the materials you use per item.

similar but in a completely different setting is how i would define them.
