It's a case of having blinders, methinks, for oldtime Ryzomers who are cheering for KP being back b/c the difficulty setting is amped back up. But we still have a problem of a game with limited viability. Ryzom returns to being a difficult game, but those who do stick w/ the game just might not provide enough subscriptions to keep the game going. I don't care either way. If the game is still fun, I'll stick around. If it's not, then I'll go. But for new gamers who find the learning curve too steep, it will be intriguing to see if at the end of the day there are enough subs to keep Atys running.

I'm hoping those who cheer the return of KPs will help new gamers deal with KPs (among other challenging aspects of the game). Just a reminder: it's bad form to tell new folk "if PR is too difficult, stay out". Because you know what? With stand-offish attitudes like that, people might just stay out (of the game), for good. :(

I'm glad to see KP back, but there's a fine line between a challenge and an annoyance. Lets not forget PR already has 2X normal HP mobs as well as weather affected mats(including choice).

If we could get teams of people down there defending diggers on a regular basis that'd be great but I just don't see it happening, at least not with our server population. At the bare minimum their aggro range should be dropped back to normal, and, ideally, I'd love to see some difficulty adjustments made based on active server population. (To this as well as several other things :p )

Essentially, PR with the exception to Umbra has become inaccessible, period, full stop, to anything less than a group of 2 full teams. That’s pretty limiting and a huge waste of some great content on Atys.

Now that said, I think some great fun can be had IF… that’s IF… we actually organize to have that group of at least 2 full teams go and do something.

I suspect that this state of Kitin Patrol will not last. Something needs to change. But in the meantime let’s make the best of it. Come join us for the Dig/Spank Expeditions this weekend (See THIS POST).

Those of you who love that KPs are back… show us. Join the event, or organize more. I suspect some saying they love the KPs have not actually gone and experienced it yet, so now’s your chance. This CAN be fun I’m sure, but we have to do something about it.

Exactly my thoughts. I know that one poster (it's always his fault if you know what I mean) that says leave the KP as they are and suck it up took two full teams down to do a boss hunt. Wiped multiple times before they left empty handed. I've yet to see him come back and mention that little bit of information.

I was with Sweetmarie's first group yesterday. We managed to kill 1 patrol made up of six gruesome Kirosta, yes just the little ones, and we managed that fairly well. Another patrol with 1, just 1, Great and a swarm of gruesomes wiped us. The big patrol with four greats, two lacerating and I have no idea how many gruesomes, yes it was just one patrol because I watched that same group move as a group for quite some time, didn't even pause long enough to gloat over our dead bodies before moving on.

As for all the elitism I'm seeing, if that's the way you want Ryzom to go, so be it but remember that one of Ryzom's biggest attractions is it's friendly and welcoming player community and nothing, absolutely nothing, destroys a community so fast as elitism. How about turning your elitism off and turn on your team organizing skills and PROVE to the rest of us that Kitin Patrols are worth keeping.

Uhm people, lighten up a bit.

No reason to get so frustrated by some post on this forum. You agree, or you do not. Both is ok.

Personally I think one thing is good, even if you dont like the patrols, and that is that there is something happening with Ryzom again.

Gorran FYI :Yesterday was trial, Today we walked into undersprings with 1 team killed every KP that attacked us, killed all three bosses that had been up for the last 2 days and walked out. The whole reason your team wiped was the set up of it.
why are you so upset when you don’t even dig 200 ql pr mats??

Don’t come on here and say its too hard. Take some time to work out the patrols and what you can do about them, Don’t come here with misinformation. Most spots in PR can be dug you just need to find a safe spot to hide when the KP walks past.

Supreme materials are meant to be rare, giving a newbie 97% amps and all supreme gear as soon as they arrive form slain shouldn’t happen.

You want the best boss and dig mats then work for them.

Again I say: Leave them as they are , too hard for you then don’t go into pr.
The better option to stop people crying would be to turn the spawn off so they are like destroyer/slayer mobs, after being killed they don’t pop until the next reboot.

I agree with nitro 100%, all the *newer* players have got used to easy gear, I remember when sups were special. adapt and conquer instead of crying :)

btw you can still get up to Q200 mats in umbra, just watch for those evil kami/kara patrols what have a massive aggro range :)

What Nitro said - was in there with the team and yes, we all almost maxxed out DP and yes it wasn't easy, but our one team DID wipe out several KP's and clear the bosses out of US and SC. Just needs a little thought and a Nitro shouting orders ;P

That said, I would like to see the aggro range on the KP's reduced.

As for new players getting good gear ... why not? There are q150 sup's available easily in WG/GoO and numerous Bosses at 150 and lower, so unless level 250 players are gonna start walking around with Bawakya amps I say there's no reason why new players SHOULDN'T have 97 amps, otherwise whats the point of Umbra/Messakan etc, etc, etc?
3:1, 2:1, 1:1 ... probability factor of one to one; we have normality. I repeat: we have normality. Anything you still can't handle is therefore your own problem.

Okay I am glad that "normalcy" has returned to Ryzom.

But I would say a few adjustments might make things a little more sane to deal with..such as instant spawning of kitins you just killed...lengthen time to ...er a minute after you killed it? LOL They respawn too fast..think the agro range needs to be less than it is.

As for those who already MASTERED PR DURING THE TIME THE KP WERE GONE.....well kudos to you.

Frankly..I want to accomplish something, and I can't see that spending all my time working off dp and not skilling up........is worthwhile.

Someone told me I should go to PR now that the KP are back and thusly sit for hours watching the mob movements (wonder how you do that and remain alive for "HOURS") yet another thing I am not willing to do...especially alone.

I am also not willing to drag 30 people behind me every time I dig a node......can you say BORING? Not for me..but for the poor unfortunates I would have to drag with me each time. Now granted, I suppose "some" will be up for the fight.....but not for the next two months while I "dig as fast as I can before the KP comes!!!???!!) sheeeeeeeeeee......

Lets do something else....like not go to PR and not bothering attempting to trek to get the tps..cause I don't have those yet either.

Lets just say that the goal has been accomplished, I promise I will not step foot in PR any more, because those that are already Master dig there...need me not to. :P Okay Okay that was said tongue in cheek.

Just not worth my time is MY bottom line..I am sure I will master every other dig there is..in due time...just not PR.

Ah well..c'est la vie...n'est ce pas?

There is much more to this game than just the mats, I know that is hard for some to understand. People also find it hard to understand that I mastered axe with NPC armor and an NPC axe. So what if I don't dig q200 PR mats, I and all those like me don't deserve to see the Prime Roots? We don't deserve to see the sights down there that hint at how Atys was created?

People continually whine about the lack of content and yet when the most content laden areas become more limited people start cheering. That makes no sense to me.

What misinformation? I am only reporting what I have experienced and seen with my own eyes. If you would be so kind as to point out where I lied about anything, I'll happily never say another word about the issue.

Allow me to make this extremely clear: I DO NOT WANT supreme mats nor do I want boss mats. I HATE supernodes and detest boss hunts which is actually the main reason I turned down Valda's invitation to TI.

I disagree. Turn the aggro range down and slow the respawn time to an hour or two. What?! I didn't say to remove them (I don't believe I ever have in this thread). No, I simply said that leaving them as they are is a bad idea.
