I had tried the Trial quiet some time ago, got a suscription, got off Silan and....quit ..
I know, stupid. Unfortunately none of my real life friends wanted to join me so i went off to play DAoC again.
Some time i started AoC, found a great bunch of people, joined their Guild and to my surprise found out they all come from Ryzom.
I don't have to explicetly mention i think, that all went back to Atys when the Servers opened again.
Feeling kind of lonely without Guildies or anything to do ingame i decided to download Ryzom again.
And it instantly got me again.
I can carry any weapon, i am not bound by some mysterious oath to only use 1h blunt.
After a while i feel like running around healing people, so i do that. Throw some spells around ? No problem. That's the
First point of awesomeness.
Then the harvesting.
Usually i am not keen on digging. It's tiresome, boring, mindnumbingly uninteresting to click a tree and wait...click a tree....and wait.
Not that it's now suddenly my favourite hobby but i don't mind digging anymore because they actually made it interesting.
Thanks to Stanzas, prospecting and resource nodes blowing up on you it's quiet fun and even challenging at times. That's the
Second point of awesomeness
Crafting only gets better as you get more options, not just "will the light pants in blue make my butt look big ?", but actual options to adjust every piece to my need or the need of customers in one craft. And i can actually make profit with it right from the start ! That's the
Third point of awesomeness.
Non linear Gameplay is wonderful. I am not told to now go to point A, from there to B etc.
I actually have to use some thought to find raw material, inquire information from the community, try around a little to get somewhere.
No markers showing you where to go for a quest, so you don't just face the arrow and hit autowalk.
It makes me pay closer attention to landmarks, mobs etc.
The whole feel is more involved. That's the
Fourth point of awesomeness.
Last but not least, the community. Every game has some trolls and roxxors but in Ryzom they seem to be an endangered species.
If i imagine other games with 1! Universal chat channel....cerebral diarrhea assured
I need info, i just ask. I need a quick hand with a quest, i just ask. Sometimes people can help, sometimes not. The key is the way the answer is given. So the people playing the game are the
Fifth point of awesomeness
Now all there is left to hope for is that the cosy feeling stays for me and that cash starts flowing soon for them, so the servers are up for good this time.
As usual i posted way more then intented, anyhow, looking forward to meeting you ingame.
Sincerely yours
A little Tryker ;.)

This sounds so awesome. I'm only hesitant because I don't want to get to the mainland, and suddenly get locked out, because right now I can't afford the game, and all my spare funds are going into other areas.tgdscje wrote:I had tried the Trial quiet some time ago, got a suscription, got off Silan and....quit ..
