Have any accounts ever had their characters deleted in Ryzom?
(yes I do have a reason for asking ).

Yes, quite a few. Not yet worked out a pattern, save that many of the chars were very very old.

FWIW,
The only pattern I can remember (I am not aware of other cases, but I could be wrong) was that, during the EE/US merge, characters that had the highest level less than 20 could be deleted. We were "warned", unsure if that happened.
Other than that, most (all?) players that have returned -- even after months / years (?) -- have found their toons ok, rarely with minor annoyances

You're right indeed Ani - during the Aris/Windy merge a number of characters were deleted by Nevrax (using a criteria that I can't quite remember, but would fit most people's definition of "very inactive") to clean the database and free up some names. As you say, the criteria were announced at the time.iphdrunk wrote:The only pattern I can remember (I am not aware of other cases, but I could be wrong) was that, during the EE/US merge, characters that had the highest level less than 20 could be deleted. We're very sorry for anyone who is returning to find their beloved characters are missing, but unfortunately we can't recover any during this testing phase.
If you've lost any characters, then the best advice we can give you is to not create any characters in the old slots. If you have already made one in a slot that used to be filled, definately don't make a character there then delete it after you see this... that will drastically reduce the ability to recover characters in the future.

Re: Deleted characters query
my friend returned the other day not being in game for one year all his toons was gone but on the same day my two other friends come back after being inactive for over 2 years they got in fine and they still had there toons
Re: Deleted characters query
Are we talking toons of level 20 or of level 200?maccer16 wrote:all his toons was gone
The first would be understandable, the second would be just silly. If it was done on purpose in the first place, ofcourse. Remember we were worried from the start whether they'd be able to restore all characters.
Re: Deleted characters query
On a side note, is it possible to transfer characters from one account to another?
EG, could I give the character I levelled up on Cho, to a friend, who has had their characters deleted?

I've had a few buddies with this problem too, all we can do is wait for the testing phase to be over. Not sure what's different now compared to launch (they seem to have full control of ryzom / the database? ) but yea, just have to wait.
the way i see it, we _ARE_ in a testing phase and no one really has the right to complain. they could very well just turn the servers OFF so we don't use their bandwith. I, for one, am grateful.
