Runtime error crash
Runtime error crash
Immediately after the patch I started crashing on a regular basis. When I tried to place a bookmark, I crashed. When I logged out, I crashed. Always there is a message saying something about a runtime error. Yesterday I shut down the computer, let it rest, then logged in. I could place bookmarks and I thought it was all over. But when I went to log out.... runtime error CRASH! Can anyone help me?
Re: Runtime error crash
Got the same prob, has something to do with the patch
Re: Runtime error crash
Same. My save folder got corrupted so I went to redo and logout and save and and it errors out corrupting it again... Yesterday was not fun.
Re: Runtime error crash
I hadn't crashed in forever. Now I crash half the time logging out.Getting different runtime errors. Sad I have to keep a copy of my save folder on my desktop.-Kil

Re: Runtime error crash
Now whenever I crash for no reason, I go lookup the last record of my log.log file. It may give an indication of the problem but then again maybe not.
What does yours say (last 5 lines please, not the whole thing) ?

Re: Runtime error crash
Same here. Every time I quit Ryzom I get the error that client_ryzom_rd.exe has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
When Logging in again I have the game configuration reset and the map flags all gone for that character I was using at time of quitting Ryzom. Copying the 2 associated files for that character from my backup of the Save folder to the game's Save folder restores them.
Quitting Ryzom just does this all over again.

Re: Runtime error crash
The patch today seems to correct the Quit Ryzom error... I did a quit Ryzom then clicked Quit Now. Came back in and the configuration amd map markers are ok.
However, when I create a map marker at my position I get the error and am back to the desktop. This makes the character .IKFG file zero in length. copying my backup copy restores the markers.

Todays Patch didn't correct this
For the last few days I've been experiencing the same crash with Runtime error. Says the game tried to close in an unusual way. I had Hoped that after the patch this morning it would have been corrected.
But when I just now logged out I crashed again with the same error message. Also all my landmarks are gone again.
I also note that my GUI goes back to default and I lose all customization I've done each time. Gets a bit annoying resetting keys and transparent settings each time I log in. Hope this gets corrected soon.

Make a backup of the ~/ryzom/save folder and copy the files back before running Ryzom. Annoying I know but until they fix the issue at hand I reckon it's pretty much the only solution at present.solesta wrote:For the last few days I've been experiencing the same crash with Runtime error.
