I like the IC announcement. It creates confusion and gives role-play some room to breathe. I've had several refreshing conversations about the Strangers over the last day or so.
That being said, there is also room for OOC announcement, preferably where RP'ers don't have to have it thrust into our faces.

I was on my way to the pyr baths after a hard days work, when i stoped to admire the innocence of the yubos near the city when below and behold a stranger approached me. A female Tryker with daggers the bled poison.



I knew that This homin was the part of the ones being mentioned. i tried to keep her attention, and gain her trust in order to exploit it as a weakness. i guess i was not adept enough to do so. In doing so i have given information about Yrkanis, however, judging by her reactions and quesitons it may be possible to determin the next move... All this, without 'foresight'

As one of my officers pointed out, why would they be telling us the truth? Scouts usually scout, they do not tell their plans. Any leader that decides to not prepare their defenses is taking a very large risk.

After all the city is quite literally an open city, than any can freely wander in or out of. Although the majority of karavan guilds are based there, there are also a number of kami guilds. So for its population, it is very well defended, and from the numurous faction street fights, is not a pacifist city but one used to sudden conflict, an ambitious foe would have chosen poorly in thinking a lack of walls equates to an absence of defences, perhaps they should interpret no walls as a recognition the matis don't need of walls, afterall the zorai suffered due to thier walls in the great swarm, so the lesson is walls are merely a illusion of defence. As walls tend to gather and herd folk, yet offer no escape once they are breached.

In short i have no fear of marauders trying to invade Yrkanis, they tried before and judging by their queries forgot that they failed miserably to invade. And they seen to have failed to be aware that yrkanis recieves about 50% of the OP production of all atys, suggesting that the city is very skilled and equipped.

But of course i'm merely one of the 'overconfident' Matis
