As for proof of my abilities? Who are you to question me? But then again, who am I to help you? None of that matters however. I am not so easily pulled into the squabbles of surface dwellers. I am here to offer my assistance and lend my gifts, but it is you who must choose whether to heed or not.

[IC]I put it to you, that you have no foresight, that the reason you know of these events is becuase you are masterminding them. You know the event that unfold becuase you have direct power over them. I suggest that we should fear you, more than the 'threat' you speak of.

There are many reasons why you would, grandure being one of them. Once we have delt with this 'threat'; then what would you want from us? Dapper? Glory? - I fear there is more to this than open, warm-hearted generousity.

Umm... come on guys I'm really in to this RP and all but we really need someone to announce & administer the events, seriously give The Soothsayer a break. I've ran my own small MMORPGS in the past and running events are as frustrating as it is without players commenting on the approach the event team takes.

I'm sure many old players would love to return with events unfolding and quite frankly regular events are enough motivation for me to return. So lets take a deep breath and follow through, what many of you are doing is disrupting the flow of events. GameForge took this approach but it will be fruitless if everyone goes on criticizing the every announcement made.

@meharu: It looks to me like most of the posts criticising the Soothsayer are IC. Therefore they are perfectly valid and have no bearing on GameForge or the running of MMORPG events.

An event announcer should be strictly ooc tho, otherwise is open to Rp interpretation, bias and opinion. No IG role is neutral enough to satisfy all player points of view, so pure announcements should be just that.. purely announcing. Trying to be clever and to rp announcements, simply adds unneeded flash and confusion to a simple proceedure. Unless of course that is the desired effect.

Imo the choice of trying to Rp an event announcer as if they are a character is a poor choice. The role should be mechanical and without rp, if a bias is required then one uses characters in the game.

This is advice from one who has done alot of rp events, for online and rl games and systems.

Lets see, Tidings posted messages from Characters.. Which suggests Tidings was a messenger.. That seems pretty much RP to me.
