Re: What do you love about this game?
Id say i most like the world and the people the most. Which is what i missed the most when i left, and will do again next time i leave hehe.
Having come back recently from 9 months away in EQ2, id say that while the whole quest/gear thing stops you noticing a lot and does keep you busy (i actually thought id only been away for 5 months..lol) , once you've got that 70th level and filled up your slots with various alts of shapes and sizes, you notice the world was rather plain and lifeless (as were the mobs AI). You notice the community rather lacking, and you notice...well, you dont even notice the EQ2 support.
When i came back to Ryzom, I instantly saw how amazing the place does look, how well the mobs interact and how friendly people i know are (people i remember? ) which you do sometimes forget when getting annoyed over the grind - Granted i now miss some of my characters traits from my EQ2 avi's, but you cant have everything hehe.

My friends.
Redslayer, Pelian, Saraii, Ysquanir, Hijati, Soloreaper and **** of others, Including Ratara and Lewy
Community, gotta love it. You hate some, love some, cant stand some and admires some.
PvP, the system for it is amasing, could use some tweaks. But its as close to pre-cu swg as I have found yet.
Skill leveling system. Amasing.
Atys. WOOT.
Finally, my guild. They are the best

Re: What do you love about this game?
- The guild my main character is in, House Etchmarc. Even though I love the game, without them I probably wouldn't still be in-game. They as individuals, and the environment they provide, both IC and OOC, are delightful and interesting.
- Non-linear. Players aren't led by the nose through the game from beginning to "end." It's up to them to decide the reason and purpose for their character's existence. Unfortunately this is an endangered species of gameplay.
- Atys. The vibrant, wild, and diverse nature of the world continually amazes me. The interactions between fauna, discovering places I hadn't noticed before, knowing there are entire areas and regions I have yet to thoroughly explore, the fascinating details like the meaningful pictograms on Zoraï stuff, the mysteries and ruins, the weather and seasons and ecosystems, and the wonderful immersion of simply sitting in a place and watching the symphony of graphics and AI.
- The story and setting. Unique and intriguing, with mysteries, mostly grey areas, and many layers of possible meaning. Too bad most players end up viewing aspects, such as the factions, as simple black-and-white "they're evil and we're good."
- The community. There still abounds a helpful and friendly spirit sometimes, though I fear that it's endangered.
- Crafting. Currently it is a complex and interesting portion of the game, with a vital role in the community. Also somewhat endangered.
- The skill system. I take it for granted a bit since I generally don't enjoy grinding for very long, but that's perhaps all the more reason to appreciate the ability to switch skills at whim and practice a variety. The system also makes sense to me: in RL we aren't limited to a single skill/profession/activity for our entire life, so why should characters be limited in such a way.
- PvP. This means outpost battles to me, because I've never been in a faction thus never experienced tagged PvP, and I've never been attacked or attacked anyone in the Prime Roots/Nexus. I think the problems with outposts are at least partly due to people attempting pseudo-roleplay without having a grasp of the "separation of player and character" concept, which leads to trouble in any situation. Conflicts and arguments that should be purely In-Character get hemorrhaged into blending with the feelings and opinions of players, creating fierce Out-Of-Character perceptions of disagreement and segregation based on fictional deities and wars. Aside from all that, I enjoy participating in the outpost PvP system itself. The politics it stimulates are interesting and add depth to the RP aspect of the game.

I love the /love emote and the /smack emote and the /silly emote and the /crazy emote.
I love Yaffle telling me what to do/where to go as soon as I log on.
I love Beau saying I was in Order of the Nameless. I think that is so cute.
I love sitting on the giant hill with Sinister, making sure our bumps get deeper and laughing with him when we have intruders.
I love sitting at the stables leveling my talking skill past 250, instead of grinding. I hate to grind.
I love that I would help someone by healing out of team or something to that effect, just so they could finish off the last of their levels.
I love bantering with a few members of the KA. I love going to Yrkanis tagged and I love bossing people around at Outpost battles.
I love mistelling uh oh things where everyone can see, and then laughing about it in private because it soo shouldnt have been seen by the public
I love a lot more, but I dont want to take up a whole page.
