Anyone playing this game on an Apple iBook/laptop?

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

Anyone playing this game on an Apple iBook/laptop?

Question in the subject, is anyone playing this game on an iBook or Powerbook, through some emulation software or anything? If so, how does it perform?

If they are, I don't think they would post it here as I believe it is against ToS to do this. I would imagine, since this game was built primarily for Windows based system, it would perfom very poorly, if not crash every other 5 seconds. =/

Would be neat if someone pulled it off though =)

Actually I don't believe it is against the ToS. In fact, I'd love to hear if someone is actually running the game on their Powerbook (so I can try it on mine ;) ). I would assume that you wouldn't be able to run it on the older iBooks but the new ones (G4s) you should be fine if you have a good emulator.

**Edit**

Just to be sure about my answer, I asked my Mac guru (my darling boyfriend or as I like to refer to him, MDB). He said *maybe* a brand new G5 but certainly not an iBook or Powerbook, only because the best emulators out there can only make them run like a 4 year old computer :( Too bad, I wanted to try it out.

from what I know of Mac emulation of windows software, I think it might be easier just to buy an old system somewhere for a couple hundred $.

Which couple hundred dollar notebook could play Ryzom?

Ryzom isn't the only thing I use a computer for, but I figure, it'd be nice if I could play it from my couch.

I simply don't think that's an accurrate statment. I've looked into it a bit myself, since my notebook is giving me some problems playing this game, and I would expect to pay at least around $800 for a system that could run SoR smoothly; and $800 is my least estimate. This game really pushes system resources, from my experience.
