They did put up a notice (first in Deutsch, later in English) back in December, it is "hidden" in the corporate news section.

With all that is going on, the gameforge website is our least concern ;)

I am not a fanboy like my friend, but you failed to meet the dispute criteria. Both in my job and in my at home games/browsing I have seen the holiday's challenges for networking. I would hope we get more than heresay about the downtime, but realise there is more than you clicking an icon to making things happen.

There were some failures, but you're making alot of noise over small stuff. GF needs to grab the reigns on this surely... but stuff happens.
So, Everquest isn't an MMORPG?

There will be a news explaining what happened.

Somethings need to be explained though. Gameforge is not some multinationalsupercooperation. We are a company with around 40 employees. We are a gaming company through and through, guess we just had a bit more luck and a bit more financial skills than Nevrax. We got the news that we have gotten the deal Thursday before Christmas, until now it is still not finalized and we are waiting for some essential documents.
I agree, there can be no excuse for this downtime, believe me, Gameforge was even more upset than you guys.
What have we changed until yesterday?
Nothing. The same provider is running the servers, the same people of Nevrax are monitoring them. We are not arrogant enough to buy a company that has done a great job for years and then get in for a day and think we know all better and start changing things instantly. Before we make changes, we need to find out what has to be changed.
In short, we want to understand the company before we act. Any other approach would just be ignorant and stupid.

Some here seem to be thinking we just bought the game. That is not the case, we bought a whole company, Nevrax.

Its great to see someone from GF come talk with us Phelan, and I'd like to personally thank you for taking the time to try and sort things out. But also to extend the fact that the downtime isn't your problem, the downtime isn't our problem. We're more than content to wait for the servers to come back up, and it wasn't GF's fault that the servers came down in the first place.

But having the main page crash completely and Klients go offline is much more worrying than a little bit of downtime. More than anything, we need what you're doing right now, we need gameforge to have english speaking representation to communicate with us through a medium that won't crash suddenly when the servers go down.

The entire reason for my original post was to tell you, if you're looking for something to change, #1 is communication. Front line communication when there's a crisis is what will determine whether we become upset and cranky, or whether we become understanding and quietly cheer for you.

EDIT : And please ignore my complete and total failure in grammar... still 90% asleep.

I would like just out of curiosity ask one tiny question- kirzen- are you a brand new inhabitant of Atys (which should be seen by ur forums register date) or you are one of oldtimers who just came back ?
And @ Gameforge- some of us have a quite good tho heavily worn out "Armor of patience q260" and you have our credit of trust for your actions that should result saving Atys :)

Hee heee heee
I love it. I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

But, it isn't just funny, but does a great job of expressing the frustration at the information void we all have been living with.

HAA haa - i jest re-read it, and am STILL laughing...

Kirzen, my friend, you have won Friday's "kewpie-doll".

So how about it Gameforge? Aren't we all responsible homins here? We don't hate 'cha - heck, we don't know ya! GET TO KNOW US!

(we love our Ryzom!)

*EDIT: Thank you Phelan for responding, and for representing Gameforge for us. I think that just seeing a response made alot of us feel alot better in a hurry. Danke schoen!
