argh they brought in reinforcements..

lol sorry I had to say that ...

why not argue the virtue of freesource software over there so this thread goes bye bye ah well at this point its entertaining a bunch of people trying to tell another bunch of people why "their free way" will be better when likely the bulk of people being told have used some type of free open source code or even possibly been a part of it and have good reasons to stay away....

you mean me? well, i might not have been so wise a tryker as arcana, sxarlet or drakfoot, nor so tough as some of the elders like aprak, but for my size I was sure a brave tryker, and me having rescued more than one from a certain death, sometimes risking more than my skin. I traveled the lands, messed around with more than one matis chic (my ears were irresistible i must say), and discovered many treasures in atys, although I never reached more than a priest title spite my age.

So i do think it's my right and logical for me to babble for freedom, because I really am a true tryker, my huge ears more than proof of my blood.

It's a bit of a misspelling of an Irish name to close to how it pronounces.

Aisling but someone got to it before me on the boards, Ari and Cho (although the boards and Ari might have been me when I first tried this game back at release if the account info was kept).

Tommyflower may have been Irish but it isn't an Irish name :)

Intresting idea's for adding something different to the game but I can't see it being possible to add player created cities to Ryzom without a huge revamp of the existing world, players being able to create cities on the current world would make it all feel too small to me and really take away from the wilderness and rebuilding society feel of the game. I think the whole world would need to be redone and made alot bigger and I can't see that happening. Even jusy changing the current cities to change by player involvement would probably require too much art development to be likely.

lol well if I got my counting right your not even actually a ryzom community member you just picked up the game as a result of the fact that is might go free and logged in then. In other words your here to advertise

/shrug

this sucks I wish it would end already I dont come to a game forum about ryzom to hear about why I should like free software this stuff belongs in the off topic section at the very least

anyhow go back to your pulpit and have fun and your a bold lot I will give you that , but the lack of couth I see would not have me touch ryzom.org and their product(s) with a ten foot poll.

And if anyone has any illusions that this lot are not gonna take ryzom and hack it up into little pieces and create some crazy basterdized version and not change the name and call it ryzom go see what they are talking about. It ain't pretty and would ruin the present ryzom and would make the same scenario that occured in SWG a reality in this game

AN ENTIRE new ryzom game that works completely differently and that barely resembles the original game only with less money and staff. If I must have an SOE like company let it be the original with good servers and a decent pay system and more then 1 developer on staff (I just wish people would open their eyes a bit a tiny bit.. )

Can we stop the flaming of each other please, ryzom.org as well as Ryzom members. I know that both sides are very passionate in their beliefs, but enough is enough. Any points that are being made are moot now, the dice have been cast already as far as the bids are concerned, no amount of arguing for or against will change anything at this point.

To ryzom.org and its supporters, if ryzom.org wins the bid, then your work was well served as far as these forums, but right now the arguing/debating is just stirring up drama and you are driving away any potential customers that aren't already with you guys and your beliefs, i would think it's better to befriend the "disbelievers" and try to assimilate them into your community, that wont be the case if many are driven away now with the battling between the 2 sides.

For the current ryzom customers, can we please stop verbally abusing anyone who thinks ryzom.org is a good idea or not. Whether you believe in them or not, their buying the company is the least likely outcome of all scenarios. Whether they're around next week or not, they have brought a lot of press to ryzom, and thats a good thing, even if you disagree with them. Some of these people that are being lashed at arent representatives from ryzom.org(yea, some are, but many arent).

Some are just people coming to check out the game because they saw a news article about it recently. Others are just people who have come along during the past month and are stuck on the island until further notice. Whats best for ryzom is that some of these free users will stay, but i highly doubt the ones you tear down will even give this game the chance that it deserves, and frankly its disgusting how some of you are treating any "free account" people you see with under 50 forum posts as if they are the enemy, many are not, they're just trying out a new game and are curious about whats going on.

Anyhow, merry christmas/happy holidays. Please take it easier on one another, i know its hard, but its almost over, and your hurting your own causes as much as your opponents until this is sorted out by acting out as many of you have been on both sides.
